BHU Courses & Fees 2026: UG, PG, Doctorate, Certificate Courses

BHU placements are good. The highest and average packages secured by MBA students in 2025 were INR 19.8 LPA and INR 10.1 LPA, respectively. Median salary stood at INR 9.2 LPA. The university has not yet released the placement data 2026 for other courses. During the placement drive 2025, a total of 177 placement drives were held, and more than 950 students were placed.

BHU has a dediacted placement cell which invites prominent companies for the placement drives. During the Banaras Hindu University 2025 placement drive, more than 65 companies participated. Some of the eminent recruiters during the 2025 placements included Cognizant, Genpact, Adani Wilmar, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte, KPMG, etc.

MBA at BHU is worth it for candidates who prioritise Return on Investment (ROI). IMS BHU offers an MBA at a fairly affordable tuition fee of INR 1.2 lakh. As per the latest placement data for the batch of 2026, the median salary for MBA students stood at INR 9.2 LPA. The average package was INR 10.1 LPA. However, for high-end corporate packages, candidates can explore the Top Private MBA Colleges in India.

Admission to most of the BHU UG and PG courses is through CUET score. However, for some courses such as PhD, MFA, etc. the university has a separate admission criteria. Candidates must check the admission requirement for the preferred course before applying for admission.

For MBBS in BHU, students shall have secured at least 50 percentile if belonging to the General category, 45 for physically handicapped General candidates, and 40 for the SC/ST/OBC category students. BHU CUET PG cutoff 2026 ranged from 13 to 242 for the OBC AI category in the 3rd round. The BHU Cutoff 2026 was released for the 4th round for admission to the PG-level courses based on the CUET PG exam.

According to the NIRF 2024 rankings, JNU is ranked second and BHU is ranked at fifth position. As per an unofficial source, the seat intake is higher at JNU for MCA, however, candidates have a higher chance of getting admission.

The hostel fee structure for BHU is INR 3,000 - INR 4,000 per semester depending upon the degree. The hostel fee does not include mess charges. Banaras Hindu University is spread across a 1,300-acre campus. There are 41 hostels for boys and 21 for girls. Additionally, there is separate accommodation for international students. All the hostels have basic amenities like water purifiers, a common room, recreation room, mess, TV, laundry services, security and surveillance system, etc.

In the QS World University Ranking 2027, BHU received the position of #951-1000. The ranking showed an improving trend as it was #1001-1200 in 2026. In the QS Asian University Rankings 2027, it was ranked #224.

Yes, BHU offers an integrated BA LLB Hons programme. It is offered for five years by the faculty of law. Admissions in the course are based on CUET UG scores. The eligibility to apply is Class 12 with at least 50% marks (General). 

To apply for scholarships, candidates must go to the Grants & Scholarship Portal of BHU.

- Upload required documents like family income proof, caste certificate, bank details, etc.
Make sure to check eligibility before applying. Students can also make a scholarship application through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).

BHU cutoff 2025 was released for multiple specialisations. Based on the last round cutoff, the closing ranks varied between 1489 and 14447 for the General AI quota. So, if you belong to the General category, you must target a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of up to 14447 or below to secure a seat at IIT BHU for BTech admission. For top branches like CSE and Mathematics and Computing, the maximum required cutoff ranks for admission were 1489 and 1924 in the last round.

 Yes, you can get into BHU with a score of 50 if you belong to the General AI category. The BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for different PG-level courses based on the CUET PG entrance exam.
