M.Sc. in Biotechnology - Batch of 2026

Best college for M.Sc. biotechnology, good infrastructure, and campus life.
Placements: No proper placement facilities and students are required to attend outside job fair to get jobs. An outgoing fresher can expect package ranging from 2.5 LPA to 5 LPA based on their skills. Since internship is not mandatory. The percentage of students who get it varies based on their personal interests.
Infrastructure: Biotech department has all the equipments and instruments needed for students. Classrooms are spacious and well-maintained, they even have smartboards and ICT. Library has all the textbooks and journals which can be accessed through online portals or direct visits. Hostel has 24 hour security, emergency medical facilities, and mess food is of good quality and hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers provide proper explanations and notes on the subjects they teach. Some are strict, but teach us properly. Course curriculum is relevant considering the papers that are being taught, experiments conducted, and events held. One can pass semester exams by studying overnight. Scoring the highest marks requires early preparation. Pass percentage is around 80 to 90%.

Best college for M.Sc., but dissatisfied due to no proper placement despite a good study environment
Placements: There are no placement opportunities or facilities in our department. Students do job hunting after the completion of the course. Outgoing freshers land jobs with an average package of 3 to 4 LPA. Students are usually offered the role of Junior Researcher.
Infrastructure: The Biotechnology Department has the best seminar halls, laboratory equipment, and classrooms. All the needed books are available in the library, which can be accessed through online portals or direct visits. Usage of phones is limited on campus, and there is no Wi-Fi. Mess food is very tasty, and different items are served daily. Proper hygiene is maintained throughout the hostel and canteen. Emergency medical facilities are available in the hostel, and the hospital is 2 km away from the hostel. There is 24-hour security, and sports can be played during free time.
Faculty: 9 out of 10 teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified to teach us. They only follow the curriculum, and the course curriculum is relevant and focused on industrial needs. Industrial visits are conducted to help us understand the application of the subjects. Semester exams can be passed by studying overnight, but scoring is impossible due to strict evaluation. The pass percentage is around 70 to 80 percent for each paper.

Absolutely dissatisfied with management and faculty members. Best facilities and environment.
Placements: There are no proper placement facilities in our department. Students find jobs on their own. Pass out students can expect a salary ranging from 3 LPA to 5 LPA based on their experience with projects and individual skills. Around 50 to 60% of students get internships on their own in diagnostic centers or research facilities.
Infrastructure: Biotechnology department shares the building with 2 other departments. All 3 departments have common seminar halls and play areas. Labs are separate, classrooms are clean, and include an emergency power supply and projector. Library is 2 KM away from the department. Limited books make it difficult for all students and no Wi-Fi in the classrooms. Hostel food taste and quality are acceptable for the amount paid. Sports facilities are limited due to hectic timetable. Health care center is present for emergency cases or general checkups.
Faculty: Not all teachers are helpful. Guest lecturers basically just read the PPTs and don't explain. Only the professors appointed by the government try to do their best. Syllabus is skipped if there is no time. Curriculum contains all the information required to make us students ready for industry. Passing semester exams are easy if 2 or 3 years old question papers are covered. Due to strict evaluation scoring more than 85% is considered an achievement.

Good college for M.Sc. in biotechnology, good study environment. No proper placement facility.
Placements: Zero students got placed, due to no proper placement facilities. An outgoing fresher usually earns around 3 LPA to 4 LPA. Students search for job vacancies by themselves, and others start their own ventures. Since the internship is not included in the curriculum, only those interested get internships without help from the college.
Infrastructure: Labs are large and have all the necessary equipments. Classrooms are spacious and even have smartboards. Library is well maintained and all textbooks are needed to students. Hostel has the best rooms and food items provided are of top quality. Variety of items are provided based on time table. University hospital 1.5 KM away from department. Hostel has first aid and other small medical facilities. Sports and games can be played when students have free time.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified to teach us, some just read the slides, and teaching quality is very good (80-90%). Course curriculum is relevant considering the industrial needs. But this curriculum makes students spend around 50 hours per week in classes, which is more than average. Semester exams can be passed easily by referring to 3 to 4 old question papers. One needs to study throughout the semester to score the highest percentage. Pass percentage is 80 to 90%, each semester.

There are no proper placements, and bad teaching. It has the best study environment and facilities.
Placements: Students are expected to get jobs on their own, without any placement facilities. An outgoing students get a job with an average package that ranges from 3-4 LPA. Students get internships from various companies or research centres on their own. The top roles offered are junior or assistant researcher, or data analyst.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are the best and have all the needed equipment for research purposes. The hostel is 1 KM away from the department. A variety of food items are present. The mess is hygienic. There is no allotted sports hour, and students can play whenever they are free. Medical facilities are available only till 4 PM. First aid is present in all hostels.
Faculty: Teachers just read the slides and cover only 70% of the syllabus. Students are required to make their own notes and reference from the library. Only some teachers are knowledgeable. The course curriculum focuses on industrial applications of all subjects and makes students industry-ready.
