University of Calcutta - The oldest college in India.
Placements: Our college provides internship programs where students take part; basically, final semester students get offers from some genuine multinational companies. Around 70% of the students are selected every year.
Infrastructure: M.A. in English Language and Literature - 2400/- M.A. in French - 2400/- M.A. in Human Rights - 42000/- total There are many more information of course details on the university website. Facilities and infrastructure are very highly supportive for the students.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful to students with proper materials. Course curriculum is very relevant in this college, and internships make a student industry-ready. If students go through properly, then semesters would not bother them; the CGPA is aggregated over all 10.
Other: The campus and the student unit are quite beautiful in nature and behavior. Students should try this ragging-free college after higher secondary.

There were no placements as such, but the course taught me endurance.
Placements: There was no placement for our course. In fact, they hardly offered placements in any stream. They did provide information about jobs, but that didn’t count as placement. Some private companies contacted our HOD regarding internships and job openings, which they then shared with us.
Infrastructure: There was a hostel for which one had to qualify based on the distance of the university from their home. The seats were extremely limited, and most students didn’t get the hostel and ended up preferring PG accommodation. I couldn’t get a hostel seat as the distance from my home to the university was not considerable. I had to travel 2 hours back and forth every day.
Faculty: Our professors were really knowledgeable but not that easy to reach out to. They taught some excellent material nonetheless. The curriculum was not very relevant and needed an update. I was doing my Masters and was not required to write a thesis or anything. There were no active journals. The course didn’t prepare us for higher education or anything else. Semesters were difficult. We only got around 3 months between each semester. To pass, we had to attend all the lectures, and the questions seemed very familiar. In the first semester, around 50% of students failed, but the number was lower in the next semesters.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to pursue higher studies in literature. This degree taught me a lot. I can't deny that. The best part was definitely the teaching and the central library. The professors could have been more punctual, and we could have been given more time to truly call this course semester-based. The departmental journal should have been reopened. Honestly, there were no fests or events happening; the union was supposed to organize them, but they didn’t. We organized departmental events ourselves, such as freshers, farewell, Teachers’ Day, etc. No extracurricular activities were held unless we organized an event for them. The campus itself was quite small, with no place to hang out. If you bunked a class, you would bump into the professor in the hallway. There were multiple scholarships that students could avail, such as K3, Swami Vivekananda, single girl child, etc. There were scholarships for reserved category students as well. But all of these were either Central government or state government scholarships; no scholarships were offered by the university. There was one available, but the officials didn’t work for it.

Enabling the minds to see the world differently.
Placements: There was no placement programs during our time but we soon learnt about the fact that the juniors were given placements. It is nice to know that there have been good changes even though we weren't that fortunate to get placed after completion of the course.
Infrastructure: The university premises are very well maintained even though the classes were poorly sanitized and often neglected. However, we have seen the classes transforming over a period of two years. They are better maintained while the renovation has successfully preserved the heritage essence.
Faculty: The course offered has great relevance as it prepares the students to understand the depth and complete understanding of the language and actually make them Masters of their domain. One is competent enough to take up their future roles, in whichever field they feel is suitable for them with the understanding of the language and its history. The faculty here, are extremely helpful and the best the students could get.

Review of Calcutta University.
Placements: As Masters is a part of the general course, our university doesn't actually provide placements. But, getting a chance to study here, the students are exposed to a wide variety of professions and job opportunities for like editorial jobs, content writing or freelancer for a newspaper. After acquiring a degree from here, students can apply for part-time lectures to esteemed colleges here. There are a lot of people from my batch, almost 20%, who have gone to editorial jobs right after leaving university. Another large half have opted for freelancing profile.
Infrastructure: The university is more than 150 years old, but it has left no stones unturned when it comes to the infrastructure. Classrooms are well furnished and are designed to accommodate more than 150 students together. The corridors are tile floored, and recently the classrooms are being renovated to give it a full modern outlook. The library is the most attractive part of the campus. The central library of the university is famous for being almost several storied and is the home of more than a thousand books. The university library lets the students use the computer to log in to various educational websites to access and read various articles. The canteen is one of the best places on the campus. As it provides quality food at the lowest prices, and the decor of the canteen is so photogenic that it attracts people.
Faculty: Faculty members in our university are one of the best in our city. Many renowned scholars adorn the post of the professors and impart their valuable knowledge to us. Our professors are renowned scholars who have acquired degrees from both foreign and native universities and have published many books on their name. They have created an amazing, friendly and co operative atmosphere of leading, which encourages to bring out the best from students.

The review of the Calcutta University.
Placements: It is a good university in West Bengal but needs more placements. There is no placement in the language group, and also, there is no placement in the literature. Also, the Calcutta University doesn't have any link with any group, company, industry or international job platforms. You can only get your education and degree here.
Infrastructure: There are facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library, sports and Indoor and outdoor games. There is also an internet facility for group study and Gps navigation. Everything is good here. You can also find parks, love spot, personal meeting place and many such places. It is one of the best university but needs more up-gradation.
Faculty: The faculty here is helpful, but not in the examination. During the exams, they become professional. You can expect good marks but don't forget the otherwise. It is good, but not worthy as expected. They will be funny, fantastic, qualified and also overqualified, as they are simultaneously helpful and knowledgeable with a good character.
