CUSAT Admission Process 2025
Cochin University of Science and Technology admission is a multi-step process. Candidates have to register, appear for selection rounds and finally book their seats by paying the programme fee. Cochin University of Science and Technology conducts an entrance examination by itself for admissions into both UG and PG courses. However, candidates are also allowed to apply for examination based on scores obtained in any national or state level entrance exams. Below is step-wise CUSAT admission process:

2: Selection Rounds
CUSAT shortlists candidates for most of the courses based on CUSAT CAT results. CUSAT CAT is a computer-based test which has a different syllabus for each course admission. Below is the admission criteria for the top courses:
CUSAT BTech Admission 2025: CUSAT offers admission to its flagship programme i.e. BTech based on CUSAT CAT scores of the candidates. The university also accepts admission for BTech (lateral entry).
CUSAT Integrated Law Admission 2025: The university offers five-year Integrated Law programmes-BA LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons) and BSc LLB (Hons). The selection for these courses is based on CUSAT CAT scores of the candidates.
CUSAT PG Admission 2025: At the PG level, the university offers MSc, MTech, MBA and LLB programmes. The university accepts scores in GATE for MTech, KMAT, CAT and CMAT for MBA.
CUSAT PhD Admission 2025: The university shortlists candidates for PhD based on their score in DAT. The test has two parts: a written and an interview.

CUSAT releases a rank list based on the performance of the candidates in the selection rounds. The university uses tie-breaking policy to shortlist candidates with same rank. Aspirants must score equal or above the CUSAT cutoff for admission. Below is the CUSAT Round-3 cutoff:

4: Confirmation of Admissions
Once the rank list is released, selected candidates must come for document verification and CUSAT CAT Counselling. They need to pay a programme fee to confirm their seat at the university. Below are the documents required at the time of seat allotment:

CUSAT Fees 2025: Affordability & ROI
CUSAT fees include multiple components like tuition, library, lab, quasi, etc. There is also a one-time caution deposit that candidates need to pay at the time of admission. There is a relaxation in fees for SC/ ST candidates.
CUSAT follows a fee refund policy in case of cancellation or withdrawal of admission. A 100% refund is processed in case of admission cancellation before the formally notified last date of admission.

CUSAT Fee Refund Policy
CUSAT refunds some percentage of fee depending on the time of admission cancellation. A maximum of 100% refund is done. The refund is applicable on the aggregate fee which excludes the caution deposit and refundable deposits, if any. Below is the fee refund policy followed at CUSAT:

CUSAT intake varies course-wise. The university reserves some percentage of seats under different categories like State Merit Seats and All India Merit Seats, All India Quota. CUSAT Seat Reservation 2025
Out of the total intake for each course, some are supernumerary seats. The university reserves some seats for students belonging from Kerala. Aspirants should have relevant document proving their claim to get the reserved seat. Below is CUSAT seat reservation policy:

CUSAT BTech Admission 2025
CUSAT provides a full-time four-year undergraduate engineering, refers to BTech in regular programme, and provides 11 specialisations such as CSE, Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, etc. This four-year course is spans over eight semesters. The university also provide a BTech (lateral entry) programme from the third semester of a regular BTech course. Students who have completed Class 12 examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects with at least 50% marks separately and 50% aggregate are applicable to apply for the BTech programme.
