DIT Unversity admissions 2026 are open for several UG and PG courses. DIT Dehradun is also accepting applications for admission to the PhD course for the (ODD) Semester. A few more recent updates are given below:
- The MAT 2026 September session registrations have started for MBA. For the PBT mode, the registration deadline is Sep 7, 2026 and the exam will be held on Sep 13, 2026. For CBT mode, the last date to register is Sep 14, 2026, for the exam taking place on Sep 20, 2026.
DIT University Courses and Fees 2026
DIT University courses are available on UG, PG and Doctoral level. These courses are from engineering, design, medical and arts field. Top DIT University, Dehradun courses at UG level include BTech, BSc and BDes while MBA is the flagship course on PG level.
Some specialisations of both UG and PG level courses have a different fees than other specialisations. Candidates will need to pay a small portion of their first installment for confirmation of DIT University admission. If a candidate chooses to cancel their admission, UGC norms will be applicable during refunds.
Flagship courses such as BTech CSE are also offered in sub specialisations such as Data Science and Analytics, Internet of Things and Edge Computing, Cybersecurity & Privacy and Cloud Computing & Blockchain.
DIT University eligibility criteria has been set differently for every course. Admissions are generally merit based for most courses such as BSc, BA, BDes, MAand MDes. DIT University offers direct admission in BTech course to Class 12 Board Toppers. The university offers admission directly in 10% seats. Applicants are also shortlisted for BTech based on their JEE Main rank.
The total tuition fees for BDes is INR 3.8 Lacs - INR 5.5 lakh at DIT University. The lower amount is for BDes UI/ UX. For all other BDes specialisations, amount is same. Students with 90% and above or are first rank holders of all boards can get 20% scholarship. Those with 75%-90% in Class 12 are offered 10% scholarship.
The total tuition fee of MBA is INR 4.8 lakh to INR 6.5 lakh. Other fee component, include academic services fee to be paid along with the tuition fee. The academic service fee will be paid in all the semesters. A concession in tuition fee is given to candidates taking admission through Uttarakhand/ Himalayan State Quota. BTech is a four-year course offered at the UG level at DIT University. The specialisations, include Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil, Electronics & Communication, etc. Aspirants must pass Class 12 with specific subjects to apply for BTech. Admission is based on JEE Main rank or Class 12 scores of the candidates.
DIT University Fee Breakup 2026
DIT University course fees is charged on semesterly basis for most courses throughout course duration. However, for MBA courses DIT Dehradun fees will be charged on per trimester basis. Primary fee components for all courses include tuition fees and academic service fees.
Student can also avail hostel services to study their chosen DIT University, Dehradun courses. Fees for this service will be charged on yearly basis. BTech course has the highest fees out of all UG level course while MBA has the highest fees on PG level. BSc and MA courses have the lowest fees on UG and PG level respectively.

Admission fees for confirmation of DIT University is INR 10,000 in academic year 2026. This is a common amount for all courses which non refundable. Alongside this admission fees, candidates will also be charged a security deposit of INR 5,000. It will be refunded either at end or when a candidate cancel's their admission.

Yes, along with the CUET UG score, DIT Dehradun also select students based on JEE Main and on the merit of Class 12. On-campus admission counselling is conducted by the university, for which 25% of seats are reserved for Uttarakhand candidates who have scored 95% or above in Class 12. Direct admission is possible in this case, and a 25% Scholarship will be given on tuition fees.

DIT University offers direct admission to Class 12 board toppers. The university offers direct admission in 10% seats. For all other aspirants, JEE Main is required. Aspirants must also meet the eligibility for admission in BTech programme.
The selection to MBA course is based on MAT/ XAT/ CAT/ CMAT/ UKSEE. Candidates who have not appeared for any of the entrance exam can appear for DUET conducted by the university. The shortlisted aspirants need to come for GDPI round. After completion of the selection rounds, the university releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates. The shortlisted aspirants are called for counselling and document verification. Aspirants need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in the university.
Aspirants must fulfil the eligibility requirements for admission to a BSc course at DIT University. As per the official website, the common eligibility criteria are Class 12 or equivalent pass in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics (As per chosen specialisation) as mandatory subjects with at least 50% aggregate. In addition, students should have passed in English as well. The qualifying exam should have been passed from a recognised board.
Aspirants do not have appear for any entrance exam for admission in BDes course of DIT University. The selection is purely based on merit. Candidates need to pass Class 12 from a recognised board with at least 50% aggregate for admission.

If I had to choose, I'd lean towards Thapar. A senior I know from Thapar's Chemical Engineering branch had a good experience with the faculty, labs, and placement opportunities. If you're considering Chemical Engineering, Thapar is definitely a strong option.
