DIT is the best college in Dehradun.

Placements: Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Amazon, TATA, Ashok Leyland, Decathlon, Adobe, Forbes, Byju's and Eureka Forbes, etc., visit our campus for recruiting the students. The highest salary package offered was 15 LPA by Amazon and the average salary package offered by these companies was 2 LPA to 3 LPA. The rate of placements is actually very less. Only 30% of the students from all branches got placed. Last year, out of 100 students from the mechanical department, only 35 students were placed. Out of 500 students from the computer science department, only 200 students were placed. Students of the mechanical engineering department have done their internships at Bharat Electronics. There is a special placement cell at our college.

Infrastructure: The college is situated at the foothill of Shivalik hills and is in a very quiet part of Dehradun. The college is located away from the noise of the city, and it is surrounded by green forests everywhere. Even at high temperature in summer, this area always remains very cool. The college has a well-built infrastructure with spacious and furnished classrooms. Labs are fully equipped with all the essential equipment. Students of the mechanical department are provided with a workshop which has all types of machines like shape machine, CNC machine, lathe machine, and other machines. Students of the computer science department are provided computer labs with the latest computers. The college has a big library which has a big collection of books. The college is very poor in sports and games. There is only a basketball court in our college. For playing games, students have to go outside the campus. There is no cafe in the college, and only some food vans are there which serve poor quality food. Hostels are good for living but the food offered is of poor quality.

Faculty: The college has a good amount of teaching staff members. About 2 to 3 teachers are assigned to teach a subject. Every lab has two assistant staff members to help the students. Almost all teachers are alumni of IITs and NITs. They are helpful and have a very deep knowledge about the subject. Teachers use blackboard as well as the smart boards for teaching. An assignment is given on a weekly basis to assess how the student understands the subjects. But few teachers are above 50 years and are unable to teach well because of their age. I feel that the course structure is not according to our market demands, and it's an age-old course structure that is used in the college. Besides this, there is less focus on practicals and more focus on theory.

Other: The college hosts a variety of extracurricular activities. The college organises a college fest named Yuthopia in which extracurricular activities like singing, dancing, and drama, etc., are conducted. Despite all of its negatives, it's the best college in Dehradun.

Good placements in 2018. Excellent teaching methodology. You can enjoy the college life.

Placements: Placements in the college are quite good. About 75-80% of the students were placed. The highest salary package offered was 21 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.50 LPA. The average salary package offered was 6 LPA. Companies like Mount Meru, Ashok Leyland, Byju's, Nestle India Ltd, Reliance, Yamaha Motor Solutions India Pvt Ltd, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Secure Metres Pvt Ltd, Smart Joules Pvt Ltd, Capgemini, Nineleaps, and Nihilent Technologies Ltd, etc., have visited our campus for placements. They offered roles according to their requirements like a graduate trainee, etc. Around 85-90% of the students got an internship from college. The highest stipend offered was Rs. 1,900 per month and the lowest stipend offered was Rs. 1,000 per month. The average stipend offered was Rs. 1,500 per month. There is a placement cell available in our college and conducting placement drives is their prime work. Apart from that, they organise various seminars, workshops, guest lectures, counselling sessions, soft skill classes, and aptitude building classes on a regular basis. The college provides industrial visits, and it helps us in gaining practical knowledge. It also provides exposure to the corporate world.

Infrastructure: The major things under infrastructure in our university include an auditorium, open theatre, cafeteria, canteen, Cafe Coffee Day, gymnasium, health club, bank, ATMs, power back up, water and sewage treatment plants, and solar water heaters, etc. The campus is provided with 24*7 Wi-Fi facility. Book bank section is having approximately 70,000 books and unparalleled subscriptions to over 200 national and international print research journals and 25 magazines. Students and faculty members can access bibliographic data of central library by using internal e-library portal and supplement video lectures through NPTEL. A good collection of open e-resources are available. The university has ultra-modern full-fledged computer centres with internet facility. Adequate computers are installed so that each student has independent and sufficient time for making full use of such facility. The prescribed course books and notes, tutorial registers and other stationery items are available at the stationary shop situated inside the university campus. The labs are fully equipped with modern technologies along with projector facilities. Each lab has its lab technicians, and they are highly qualified. The classrooms are fully furnished along with computer systems, mics and projectors. There will be separate e-classrooms for different languages. The food served is of high quality and meets the acceptable quality standards as laid down under FSSAI and other government food safety regulations. Special consideration is given to provide a well-balanced, nutritional diet with varying food tastes. The hostel provides a feeling of home-away-from-home to students. The hostel accommodation comprises of American style apartments which are well-furnished and have ultra-modern amenities. Each apartment has three rooms shared by two students each, has a lobby and attached bathrooms.

Faculty: The teachers are helpful. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality was excellent. They are using modern means of technology for ease of understanding. They use projectors, mics, e-classroom, whiteboard, and blackboard for teaching purpose. The faculty to student ratio is 1:50. I will get industry exposure as I will be visiting Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj and JBL in Haridwar. The course curriculum is useful as it meets the current demands and technologies being used in the corporate world.

Other: The annual techno-cultural fest of DIT University is Youthopia. The college crowd is huge, and other colleges will also participate in our fest. Other than this, our college also conducts different events related to different domains of engineering, architecture and pharmacy. The campus provides scholarships to meritorious students according to their merit in class 12th, JEE based score and according to internal university marks.
