What is GAT?
GITAM Admission Test or GAT is an entrance test for admission to various UG and PG courses offered by the Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM). The exam is held as a computer-based test across various states of India and also as an online proctored test for some courses. GAT is the common test for admission to all GITAM campuses at Vishakapatnam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and GIMSR. The duration of the test is 1 / 2 hours depending on the course for which the exam is being held. The test consists of questions that are of objective type (multiple choice questions). Each question has four options of which one is correct. Each correct answer will be awarded 1 or 2 marks. The wrong answers and unanswered questions receive nil marks. The candidates who qualify GAT are then called for admission completion and finalisation at the GITAM campuses.
Note that candidates who have scores of JEE Main, TS EAMCET, or AP EAMCET are exempted from GAT. If a candidate hasn't appeared for any of the mentioned exams, they would need to apply and appear for the GITAM Admissions Test (GAT) to qualify for engineering at GITAM.
