Goa University BA seats are allotted to candidates based on marks obtained by them in the qualifying exams. The total seat intake for the BA programme offered at various affiliated colleges of Goa University is 1,094. Goa University BA seat reservation is based on the reservation policy of the Goa State Government. Candidates applying for admission under the reserved categories shall be required to submit a valid Certificate to that effect issued by the Officer of the rank of the Deputy Collector or any other authorized Officer as notified by the Government of Goa. Given below is the Goa University BA seat reservation policy:
- 2% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates who belong to the SC category of Goa State
- 12% of seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates who belong to the ST category of Goa State
- 27% of total seats, subject to a minimum of two seats, shall be reserved for candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL category of the Goa State
- 10% of seats, subject to a maximum of two seats and a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for candidates of the other Indian Universities
- 10% of total seats shall be reserved for the Economically Weaker Section candidates of the Unreserved category
- 1% of total seats shall be reserved for Children of Ex-servicemen
- 5% of total seats, subject to a minimum of one seat, shall be reserved for PwD candidates
- 15% of seats, over and above the allotted number of seats, shall be reserved as supernumerary seats for overseas candidates
- Out of the 15% supernumerary seats, one seat will be reserved for Kashmiri Migrants as per directives of the UGC
