Beautiful government college of Kerala.
Placements: The placement of the CSE branch at my campus was better than other CSE branches of private colleges in Kerala. The numbers were not that good but if the skill set was available then students could go up to a 15 LPA package. The basic package was 5 LPA. The common recruiting companies were TCS, Wipro, Microsoft, etc. The roles offered were cybersecurity head, marketing head, etc. The internship programme was better for CSE.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure here had recently improved after the lockdown. The Wi-Fi was available but had different speeds in different places. The computer labs were good but there was a little shortage of computers. The library had more than 10,000 books as they say. The quality of the mess food in the hostel was good but the girls' hostel has better. The canteen food was delicious.
Faculty: All teachers of my branch were well-experienced and soft-spoken. All teachers were either PhD holders or research giants. The course curriculum gets updated according to the Kerala Education System. The semester exams were next to tricky and it helped to improve the inside knowledge of the students. The pass percentage was above 83 percent.
Other: The visiting area near the campus was very beautiful because it is in Kerala. All tourist places here are extraordinarily beautiful.

The Government College of Kollam.
Placements: The placement hopes for mechanical students on this campus are very limited. Most of the students shift to IT jobs or other non-core jobs. The average package here is above 4 LPA. The highest package goes up to 12 LPA. The recruiting companies are TATA, L&T, etc. The internship cell is active mostly for 3rd or 4th year students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities of the campus, especially my department, are decent and good. All the classrooms are smart classrooms, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The library is well-stocked. The quality of food in the college canteen and hostel mess is acceptable, but in summer, it doesn’t feel so good.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and highly knowledgeable. The teaching quality, especially in my department, is very simple and understandable. The course curriculum gets updated every 3 years according to government rules. It does make students industry-ready. The semester exams are just like other government college semester exams, and the pass percentage is above 85%.
Other: It is just a normal college in Kollam, so don't have high hopes of having enormous fun in college. Just come here, do your own stuff, study hard, take good placements, and go.

The Kerala campus of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.
Placements: The placement percentage is around 85 percent. The average package is 5 LPA to 6 LPA. Mostly the companies try to mass recruit the students. The highest package is around 15 LPA which is for off-campus. The placement percentage is high for CSE branch students. The internship needs students' involvement very much.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are good enough. Some classrooms are smart. The campus has a big auditorium hall for fusion that is held throughout the year. The library is big with digital facilities. The quality of food in the hostel is okay. Sports facilities are limited but coaches are available.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly experienced. Most of my branch teachers are Ph.D. holders or M.Tech. Teaching quality is decent. The course curriculum is a little old but improvement is coming soon. The semester is mostly book-based. The pass percentage is above 90 percent. The course fails to make every student industry-ready.
Other: I chose this campus to get some pace from the outside world and have a decent and peaceful life.

This is a good college compared to near self-financing colleges in Palakkad.
Placements: In my college, nearby Al Ameen Law College is also there. Many other state students are also studying there. The strength of the law college is much more than Al Ameen Engineering College. There are engineering fields like ECE, EEE, MECH, CIVIL And also AD and CSE are here. Cybersecurity has been newly started this year.
Infrastructure: I'm a hostel student. My home is in Malappuram. At the hostel, we have non-veg food daily, as lunch and on Sunday, only veg food. It is not bad. Hygienic food, then for a monthly fee is nearly Rs. 5000. Transportation through Pattambi, Manarkkad and Palakkad.
Faculty: The exam is difficult. I got some backlog papers this new scheme 2024 on KTU. About teachers, very experienced but on CSE. Newly started courses staff are freshers. Well-facilitated labs, I think there are 6 computer labs for CS, AD, Cybersecurity, BCA, and BBA.
Other: I'm also working in the event organizing field, such as Industrial visit, Tour. Programs like Onam, Art, Tech, etc. In my opinion its good, I think.

Here in my college, both career and college life are awesome. I really loved it here.
Placements: In my college, the CSE and AI departments are top-ranked courses that are in high demand. Also, for CORE branches, they have been working from 2003 onwards with experienced staff. Newly started Cybersecurity, BBA, and BCA programs are also working well. Our college placements are conducted in the final year. Recruiting companies are Wipro, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: About the infrastructure in my college, the hostel and canteen are neat and well-maintained. A food inspection from FSSAI was conducted a few months ago in my college. Due to these factors, the college canteen and hostel food is not bad. My college has held 8 Wi-Fi facilitated computer labs, and many entrance exams like JEE, KEAM, etc., are held in my college because of the many computer labs.
Faculty: About the faculty, they are very friendly and experienced in teaching fields. Most staff have been working at that college since 2003. They are helpful during exams and in conducting effective revisions before university exams. According to the new 2024 batch, only 24/60 marks are needed, so passing the exam is not a big deal.
Other: Events like art fest, tech fest, Onam celebration, and Christmas celebration are regularly followed every year as milestones of the college. In college sports, football and cricket are the main ones in which our college wins trophies in football matches. It is very beautiful to enjoy college life and experience everything.

Really nice college if you are looking for placements.
Placements: About 80-85 percent of students are placed, and in the Computer Science branch about 95 percent of students are placed. Top recruiting companies like Google, Intel, etc., taking students from this college, which has branches like Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, etc.
Infrastructure: The college has free Wi-Fi, a library, an Idea Lab, and a canteen which is nice, along with football, basketball, volleyball, etc. Teams, MEC has an Idea Lab where we can do our own projects and assignments, and in addition, we have Fab Lab facilities too.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and determined, most of the teachers here have PhDs in their respective fields. The college follows KTU’s new 2024 scheme which is more updated than the older one, and the faculty trains us to excel in the semester exams.

Q:   Is B Tech at KTU - APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University better than ILM College of Engineering and Technology, Ernakulam?
A:

KTU is just an affiliating type university.

It does not have any direct campuses.

Research funding is very week.

They give only around 20 PhD fellowships a year.

Authorities are at TVM and they issue non-practical orders.

Faculties are stressed because even clerical work are transferred to them in form of digitization.

The university believes that making syllabus and exams extremely difficult will increase quality of education and employability.

But, the result is a large group of dropout and mentally tortured students.

In short research output of KTU and employability of KTU students are big question marks
