To be eligible to apply for the KEAM 2026 entrance examination for BTech admissions, candidates must be:
- At least 17 years old by December 31, 2026.
- Additionally, candidates should have taken Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, with Chemistry as one of their optional subjects in their plus two, and must achieve an overall score of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.
- For the pharmacy entrance examination, candidates are required to have completed their plus two with English, Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects, and either Mathematics or Biology as optional subjects. There is no minimum marks criteria for the pharmacy entrance examination in 10+2.
KEAM is the Kerala Engineering entrance examination for those candidates who wish to pursue UG engineering courses from the prestigious private and government colleges of Kerala. Yes, a student apply for KEAM if they satisfy the eligibility condition:
- The appearing candidates should be an Indian citizen.
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply but they are not entitled to claim any reservation.
The candidates who are not Kerala origin and even their parents also dont have any residence proof of Kerala, but satisfying the following candidates:
- Passed their qualifying examination from Kerala and Parents are posted in Kerala and employee of defense or central government.
- The candidates whose parents are serving/served Kerala Government for a period of 2 years and appearing/appeared qualifying examination from Kerala will come in this category and eligible for applying.
- In case, if the candidate is not the permanent resident of Kerala but spent 5 years of his/her study in Kerala then he/she is also eligible.
- Those who do not have domicile certificate of Kerala but completed/pursuing their 8th to 12th studies from Kerala are also eligible for KEAM.

The educational qualification for KEAM will be different for various engineering programmes offered. However, the minimum eligibility criteria is that a candidate should have passed Class 12 with Science subjects. Qualification for engineering courses: Candidates are eligible to apply for programmes such as B.Tech (Ag. Engineering. ). And B.Tech (Food engineering. ). And B.Tech (Dairy Science & Technology) if they fulfil the below-mentioned criteria: Must have cleared the HSC exam of Kerala or equivalent from a recognised board. Must have secured a minimum 50% marks in Mathematics, as well as 50% aggregate in Physics and Chemistry. However, candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 45% aggregate in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together are eligible for admission under Management Quota in Private Self Financing Engineering Colleges/Government Controlled Self Financing Engineering Colleges. In case, a candidate has not studied Chemistry. The marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science, the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry. Computer Science and Biotechnology, the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered The marks as shown in the mark list of the qualifying examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for determining academic eligibility. Pre-requisites for KEAM 2026 Registration
Before starting with online KEAM registration, candidates must keep the following things ready:
Computer System: The computer system used for applying online should have the following facilities:
- Internet: Should have an internet connection.
- Browser: Recommended browsers are the latest version of Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
- PDF Reader: Should have a PDF reader like Adobe PDF Reader or Foxit Reader. The soft copy/hard copy of the Acknowledgement Page that will be generated after applying must be kept in hand for future reference.
KEAM 2026 Prospectus: Download and read the prospectus of KEAM 2023 before applying for KEAM. The applicant should read carefully the instructions and be aware of the various Clauses of the KEAM prospectus.
Mobile Number & Email ID: When registering for KEAM, candidates should provide either their mobile number or their parent's mobile number. It's important to note that all important information regarding KEAM will be sent to the registered mobile number. It's not possible to use one mobile number for more than one application. In addition, candidates must have a valid email ID and keep it secure until the admission process for KEAM 2026 is complete. If a candidate does not have an email ID, they will need to create one before applying online. Candidates mustn't provide the email ID of others under any circumstances. If a candidate forgets their KEAM password, they can reset it by accepting the OTP in the registered mobile or email address. No, it will not be rejected. The photograph does not require bearing name and date of photo taken. Also, if they appear at the bottom of photograph, they will be also accepted. Thus candidates can upload either type of photograph.
It is better to submit income certificate by all candidates except SC/ST. Those (including General Category) who wish to avail the benefits such as fee concession/scholarships that may be notified by the Government or college authorities subsequently, based on annual family income, should upload Income Certificate on the online KEAM application portal. No further chance would be allowed to submit Income Certificate.
How to Upload Images and Certificates in KEAM Application Form?
- On a plain white sheet, the candidate should put his/her signature in black/blue ink. The signature should be clear.
- Scan this signature and crop around the signature.
- Do not scan the full sheet.
