Usually, to secure a seat at a top college like DU, BHU and JNU, candidates must score between 700 and 850. CUET accepting universities will release the CUET UG cutoff soon after the declaration of results. What is CUET Passing Marks?
CUET qualifying marks vary from university to university. There are no fixed CUET passing marks; however, a minimum of 800 marks overall is considered a good score in CUET to qualify for the admission process. Apart from the class 12th board examination, candidates must score well in CUET UG to get admission into top colleges of India. The role of the National Testing Agency (NTA) ends with the declaration of CUET results. Hence, the CUET passing marks are not decided by NTA. The CUET passing marks are dynamic and are influenced by the difficulty level of the question paper, the university/college applied for a course, and the overall performance of the candidate.

Candidates can check CUET BHU cutoff at bhu.ac.in. Banaras Hindu University will release the CUET cutoff after declaration of result and the counselling registration process is over. BHU will release the CUET cutoff in four rounds. To download the BHU cutoff, candidate must visit the official BHU website and click on the tab 'Round 1 cutoff list for UG admission' when released.
800 Marks in CUET UG 2027
800 marks in CUET UG is considered an outstanding score, which places candidates among top scorers. 800 marks convert to approximately 97-99 percentile, making higher chances for admission to top courses and colleges like Hindu College. Candidates must ensure they have the right CUET subject selection and fulfill the criteria for successful admissions.
700 Marks in CUET UG 2027
700 is considered a good score in CUET UG, marking the approximate percentile of the 90-95+ range. Candidates with a score of CUET 700 marks can get admission in top universities like the University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University in their prestigious undergraduate programs. Candidates must ensure they have the correct CUET subject combination for the desired program.
400 Marks in CUET UG 2027
A score of 400 marks is usually considered an avaregae score in CUET UG. This CUET score of 400 marks provides admission to possibly less competitive UG courses. Candidates are unlikely to get admission to top universities like Delhi University. Admission to top-demanded courses ike B.Com (Hons.), B.A (Hons.) Economics, B.Sc requires a minimum score of 650 marks in CUET UG.

NTA prescribes the CUET marking scheme. As per the CUET exam pattern, for every correct answer, a candidate will get five marks, whereas for every wrong answer, one mark will be deducted. CUET Result 2027
National Testing Agency will release the CUET UG result 2027 at cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates seeking admission to UG courses offered by CUET accepting universities must ensure to fill their respective counselling form online. CUET accepting colleges will release the CUET 2027 cut off for OBC, General, SC, ST and other categories on their official websites after their counselling registration process is over. Candidates can check the university-wise CUET UG 2027 cut off for various categories and courses.

Otherwise, if the institutes release merit lists carrying their scores, then the minimum score would be considered as the CUET UG cut off. Universities like Delhi University does not released CUET cut off. Candidates will know the college/course allocated on the basis of the preferences filled by the candidate while filling the application form.
Candidates may be allotted different CUET 2026 exam centres for different dates and slots. However, the city would most likely be the same. Candidates must check the exam centre details carefully in the admit card and appear in the correct CUET centre. Candidates will be issued the CUET intimation slip three to four days prior to the day of examination. On release of the CUET intimation slip, candidates can know the exam centre allotted and can make the preparations for travel accordingly.
Candidates must note that different admit card and intimation slip will be issued for each exam. Candidates cannot re-use the admit card of previous slot or session.
For admission to the desirous University/Institution, the candidates must appear in CUET 2027 in the Languages and Domain-Specific subjects as per the Program-Specific Eligibility for which s(he) is desirous of taking admission. For instance, if a candidate wishes to apply for B.Com (Hons.) programme in Delhi University, he/she will be required to make the subject combination as :
Combination I: Any one Language from List A + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1
OR
Combination II: Any one Language from List A + Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two subjects out of which at least one should be from List B1
Candidates are advised to check CUET programme-specific eligibility criteria before filling the application form, failing which they will not qualify for further admission process.

How are CUET Qualifying Marks Determined?
CUET qualifying marks or CUET cut-off is determined by participating universities. Soon after the declaration of results, CUET colleges release the course-wise CUET cutoff or merit list to shortlist candidates based on the score or percentile obtained. For instance, the University of Delhi releases the merit list, BHU releases the course-wise CUET cut off and so forth. Some of the factors that determine the CUET cut off or CUET qualifying marks are:
- Course and Programme: The competition level across CUET courses and universities varies. The cut off can be higher if the number of seats is fewer and the number of applicants is more.
- Difficulty level of the question paper: CUET cut off is also determined based on the difficulty level of the question paper. To balance the difficulty level across various slots and create fairness CUET normalisation process is applied.
- Reservation: If the candidate belongs to a reserved category such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or OBC, the cut off will vary. Cut off for reserved categories are lesser than General category cut off.

Check the notice before you rely on it. You must qualify JEE Main or CUET for UPTAC. A news report says only candidates with a valid JEE Main 2026 rank could register. The special rounds list CUET (UG) 2026 along with JEE Main. So CUET may help only in some rounds. JEE Main is the safe choice.
