NIT Trichy offers a two-year MSc course across four specialisations. This course is taught through the Department of Computer Applications, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.  To get admission to MCA course at NIT Trichy, students must be graduated with minimum 60% aggregate or 6.5 CGPA in BSc/ BSc (Hons)/ BCA/ BIT with Mathematics/Statistics/Equivalent subject as one of the subjects. Students who are graduated with BE/B Tech or equivalent from a recognised University can also apply for this course. However, a five percent of relaxation is give to candidates who belong from SC/ ST categories. These candidates are required to obtain minimum of 55% or 6.0 CGPA in their respective graduation. At the postgraduate level, NIT Trichy provides two-year MTech, MBA, MCA, and various other courses to students. The MCA program at NIT, Trichy is good. For admission to BTech, the JEE Main Round 1 cutoff 2025 has been released for different categories, including OBC under the HS quota. For the first round, the closing ranks ranged between 1620 and 8877 for the OBC category students belonging to the HS quota. For the OBC category students under the AI quota, the Round 1 cutoffs were between 376 and 7579. Upon reviewing the first-round cutoff ranks for both the quotas, we can see that the competition was comparatively less for the students belonging to the HS quota as compared to the AI quota students.
