SD College is a good Co-ed college. You can think of taking admission in this college.
Placements: Placements are average at SD College. If a student really wants to get a placement and works hard for it, then only they can get a placement. Those students who didn't work hard will not get any placements. According to the 2023 placement data, only 25 students managed to get placement. The highest package offered is 6-7 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 2-2.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of SD College is excellent. The IT building is fully AC centralized, and the library is also amazing. The food available in the mess and canteen is also good. In SD college, a lot of students are interested in sports, so those students who are interested in sports and want to make a career out of it can apply to SD college.
Faculty: Some of teachers are highly qualified in the IT department. The curriculum of the BCA course is a bit old yet relevant. It does not make the student fully industry-ready. The semester exams of PU colleges are easy, but the checking done is too tight. A student has to get 25 marks out of 100 to pass in MST.
Other: I chose this course because I have been interested in computers since childhood. I love doing coding, and I think SD college is good, but it can improve in ways like they can conduct more IT-related competitions, Hackathons, etc. All the extracurricular activities are excellent at SD College.

I am grateful to be an alumnus of this college, it's a great place.
Placements: I can't say much about placements as the drive runs during our exams. So, rarely do students from the batch get selected, but students from other batches do get selected, and oftentimes placement drives take place in college. Many seminars are held to teach us for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is really cool. At MCM, we even have a girls' common room. It has AC and it is so comfy and relaxed, we often made assignments there, chilled, and worked on annual functions, chit-chat, and gossiped and had a amazing laugh.
Faculty: Faculty members are okay. But the teachers here are so helpful and sweet, they help a lot. Great teachers. The curriculum of the course is relevant and up-to-date. The semester exams are pretty good to examine us. They are good, according to the syllabus they taught us.
Other: I chose Sociology, and the best thing about this course is that it took me to the roots of society, why and what is happening around us. I love this subject. They can make it more technical in the future, and also need to add more research papers, campus and college events, and annual functions, which are damn fun that happen all the time in college. Loved it, enjoyed it.

College with best faculty, good infrastructure, but no placements in 2024.
Placements: No placements are provided as such in the college, but internships are provided to the students by the company that owns and operates the college, Vardhman Textile. The internship is unpaid, and very few, nearly two students out of 300, will get placement offers from the internships. There are no companies coming from outside to the college.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel in the college because the students are from the same city and are day scholars. The classrooms are fully equipped with Wi-Fi, smart boards, and ACs. The library is also maintained very nicely. The canteen is available in the college, which provides delicious food to the students.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful, and 90% of them are Ph.D. holders in their field. So, there is no doubt about the faculty's knowledge. However, the course curriculum is not relevant and does not make students industry-ready, because in the first and second semesters, we are only taught subjects we have already done in class 12th and 11th. The semester exams, such as mid-semesters, are very difficult compared to the final exams conducted by Punjab University. According to Punjab University, the passing percentage for the BBA course is 40%, but the college has set it to 50%.
Other: I chose this course because, compared to B.Com, which is a traditional course, this gives me an edge over B.Com graduates in the management field. I have explored this management field in this course.

I think my college has good faculty, but there are no placements.
Placements: So there were no placement packages because I think in medical field, these doesn't happen. So I don't think my college provides placement packages for science students. I think if you are an arts or commerce student, they will provide placement packages or internship for you.
Infrastructure: Our college has labs, but equipment is not so good. Like they have good stuff but like the other day, there was only one microscope to work with. Other than that, the canteen has good food, but I don't know about the quality.
Faculty: The teachers are all qualified Ph.D. teachers. I think they teach pretty good. Sometimes they seem rude, but if you study, they will be more than happy to help. The college exams are not that hard if you study well, or do the previous year's question paper, you can pass the exams. Faculty is nice, they don't waste anyone's time and work properly. Helps in doing experiments. They are experienced.
Other: They give you scholarship, but it's not so good anyway. Other than that, extracurricular activities happen, and there are so many clubs you can join. Event happens, it's nice.

Dissatisfied by the infrastructure, but teachers are good enough.
Placements: In your third year, you will be offered specialization in banking, marketing, and management. There are approximately 90-100 students in one batch of BBA. There isn't much hope for college placements because the placement cell has not been functional for a long time.
Infrastructure: The classes and washrooms are in an absolutely worse condition than ever. There is barely anything in the name of good infrastructure for facilities. The hostels are in very good condition. If only the classes were as good as the hostels. There is a lot of space for improvement in the overall infrastructure of the college.
Faculty: The college focuses on studies and attendance and has a strict attitude towards overall education. 75% attendance is mandatory to appear in mid-semester and end-semester exams. The college offers good teachers and a learning experience. PGGC is an overall good, reputable college in Chandigarh.
Other: The college is close to Punjab University's main campus and offers many different schemes like NSS and NCC for student participation. Physical fitness competitions and different clubs provide a good environment for exposure.

This college is good for someone having a family business and does not want to do academic work.
Placements: Placements are not conducted here. It is a degree course. After this course, a lot of my classmates opted for off-campus placements. Some students got clerical jobs and some became medical representatives. Companies do not visit the college to recruit students. Some students cleared government jobs in the Punjab police. The top role offered in my course is to do an M.Sc and then become a teacher.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are nice and big. The computer lab is there but I never used it. Chemistry labs are there. Wi-Fi is not available for students. The hostel facility is good. Food is good in a mess, and it is healthy. Medical facilities are not available as I know from my 3 years of course. Sports options are there.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified to teach students. The course is oriented according to Punjab University Chandigarh. I do not think the course curriculum makes students industry-ready. It just gives a degree so that students can apply for government jobs or any job in the industry. Semester exams are easy, and students can crack studying a week before exams. The pass percentage is 70-80% and the dropout percentage is 40%.
Other: I suggest students do not opt for the degree course if they are unsure what they want to do. However, students can do some professional courses like engineering, law, MBBS, and B.Pharma so that they get knowledge to excel in life.
