SRM Institute of Technology Kattankulathur campus offers a four-year BTech divided into eight semesters. SRM IST Kattankulathur PhD course admission is entrance-based. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria are further required to appear for the departmental entrance examination followed by an interview round. To apply for the examination, aspirants need to visit the SRM Chennai official website to register and fill out the application form. 

After the selection rounds, a selection list is published by the deemed-to-be-university. These candidates have to further do the provisional registration. After which, candidates need to pay the tuition fee on or before the prescribed deadline to confirm their seat.

Candidates who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognised board can apply. However, the qualifying examination should have been passed with a minimum of 50% aggregate. SRM Chennai fee structure for a 3-year LLB programme ranges from INR 6 Lakh to INR 12 Lakh. In addition to this, some of the additional estimated expenses that a candidate may incur while studying for a 3-year LL.B. The total tuition fees of M.Tech ranges between INR 3.20 Lacs and INR 17.50 lakh. The fee includes the integrated MBA fee as well. Candidates are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Candidates will also require to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.

Admission to SRM University has been conducted under SRMHCAT through MAT, XAT scores. To get into SRM University, candidates need to acquire a cutoff rank of 80 for MAT and 50 for XAT under open category. Comparing it to the previous years' cutoff, it remained same over the years. No change has been witnessed in the cutoffs in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Over the past few years, the SRM Institute of Science and Technology has been ranked under multiple streams namely Management, Engineering, Computer Application, pharmacy, and others.
