Thapar University admission to most of the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses is based on candidates' performance in several national-level entrance exams. For TIET BTech admission, candidates must have class 12 and a valid JEE Main score. Step 1: Thapar University Application Process 2025

The very first step of the admission process is to visit the official website of the University to fill out the application form. The TIET application process is conducted in online mode. Candidates have to register through the official website of TIET to apply for any of the programmes. Follow the below-mentioned steps for the complete TIET application process:

Step 1.1: Visit the official website of TIET. 

Step 1.2: Click on “Admission 2025” and register yourself. 

Step 1.3: Fill out the application form by entering the required academic and personal details.

Step 1.4: Upload a scanned photo of the qualifying exam mark sheet and a passport-size photograph.

Step 1.5: Pay the application fee online via debit/ credit card or net banking.

Step 2: Appear for the Entrance Test

In the next step, candidates are required to appear for the entrance test i.e. JEE Main/ NEET for Thapar University BTech admission. If candidates have a valid score in JEE Main or NEET they need to mention their scores in the TIET application form. 

Step 3: Declaration of the Merit List

Based on the marks secured in the entrance test, TIET release the merit list of selected students for the counselling round. The merit list released by the University includes the name of the students along with their entrance test scores, category and allocated branch name. 

Step 4: Counselling Process & Fee Payment 

The next step is to appear for the counselling process. Candidates whose names appear in the provisional merit list released by the University are only eligible to appear for the counselling round. After the counselling round, selected students need to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats for Thapar University BTech admission.

No, Thapar University doesn't offer direct admission for its BBA course. Admission to this course is based on candidates' performance in an aptitude test conducted by Thapar University. An online test is conducted to measure the academic readiness of the candidate based on: 

• General Awareness
• Aptitude and Analytical skills
• Logical Reasoning Based on the scores obtained in an online entrance test, the University will prepare a merit list of selected candidates for the Personal Interview round.

Thapar University admission to BE/BTech courses is both entrance and merit-based. TIET 50% seats will be filled on the basis of candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam and the rest 50% is based on the merit of marks secured in Class 12 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject. So, for JEE-qualified candidates, the minimum eligibility is to pass Class 12 or equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% for SC/ ST candidates). Candidates applying on the basis of their Class 12 marks must have passed the examination with not less than 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates).

Thapar University cutoff 2025 via JEE Main has been released for B.E./BTech courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. As per the Thapar University JEE Main cutoff 2025, the cutoff rank needed between 46226 and 223330. Similarly, the needed rank for OBC All India quota for one and only course, CSE, is 46226. Thapar University cutoff 2024 has been released for PGDM course through NMAT exam. To get into Thapar University, the required cutoff score for the open category candidates stood at 150 in 2024.
