The mode of Mysore University admissions is online. Mysore University course admissions are majorly based on the entrance exam scores. It conducts its own entrance exam, known as the Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) for admission to all the PG courses offered at the university. The University of Mysore also accepts several national or state-level entrance exams for admission to specific courses. University of Mysore offers two-year M.Tech course divided into four semesters. The PG course is offered in four specialisations including Computer Science and Technology, , Data Analytics and Learning and Materials Science at the campus. The University of Mysore grants admission through KEA as well. A lot of colleges affiliated with the university also offer this course.
University of Mysore gives an online MBA. The online programme is available in 16 specialisations, including Digital Marketing, HR Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc. The min. eligibility required for each and every course is a UG degree in any stream from a recognised university. An online MBA is suitable for a range of individuals, including working professionals who wish to learn alongside their work. Online MBA at UOM is UGC-DEB and AICTE approved.
The University of Mysore has undergraduate (UG), (PG) postgraduate, & research programmes available for students. Some of the streams are Humanities, Arts, Science, Law, Commerce, IT and Software, Business Management, and Education. The duration of these courses ranges between one to 5 years. The entrance examinations accepted include CMAT, GMAT, MAT, CAT, Karnataka PGCET XAT, etc.

| BCA | All those candidates who have successfully completed +2 or PUC or equivalent are eligible for admission. |
| BBA | Candidates who have passed the Twoyear PreCommerce are University Examination in eligible to apply. |
| MBA/PGDM | Candidates must have passed Bachelor's degree of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks (45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). Final year students can also apply on provisional basis. |
The first step for admission process is the application form. Before completing the application form students must review the qualifying requirements. Since admission is entrance-based students must also complete the PGEE application.
Candidates willing to give admission must first check the eligibility requirement & then fill out the complete application form. Admission is given based on the test scores, hence, students must fill out the relevant entrance examination application as well. Further, the final selection is given basis the score in examination & fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
For the holistic development of the students, the university has a separate cell called the Directorate of Physical Education, which looks after the sports-related events. The University of Mysore sports facilities include three cricket grounds, four tennis courts, a cinder track, three basketball courts, etc. It also has Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Gangotri Glades, and three indoor stadiums. A well-equipped large gymnasium and a well-maintained swimming pool are also available for the students to focus on their physical health.
Candidates need to complete a minimum of graduation preferably BTech/ BE in relevant subjects with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST/ Category-I) to apply for Mysore University M.Tech courses. Below is specialisation specific eligibility:

The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise at University of Mysore. The university considers scores in CAT, MAT, Karnataka PGCET, GATE, etc. for admission to specific courses.
