Yes, VTU accepts Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) scores for admission to its Bachelor of technology programme (BE/BTech). In addition to Joint Entrance Examination Main, the college also accepts scores of other entrance exams such as COMEDK UGET,  Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET),  Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (KPGCET), etc. Candidates must also have valid eligibility criteria, i.e., a pass in Class 12 with 45% aggregate in PCM for GM students and above 40% aggregate for SC/ ST students.

Visvesvaraya Technological University accepts multiple entrance exams fro BTech. KCET/ COMEDK UGET/ JEE Main are few of the entrance exams for BTech admission. Candidates are required to apply/regiater for the exam by visiting their official website. However, there are a minimum eligibility criteria for the BTech, which candidates must qualify for admission.

The BTech programme is offered across the BTech affiliated colleges. VTU BTech admissions are based on a valid score in JEE Main / KCET/ COMEDK UGET. The Unievrsity offers a lateral entry admission to the BTech programme. Karnataka Examination Authority will commence the KCET 2025 application form facility after the conclusion of the exam at the official website. Applicants can make changes in the KCET application form in online mode. Candidates are allowed to make changes in certain fields only. Applicants are advised to cross-check all the details before submitting information. KEA do not entertain any request for change in KCET application form after the conclusion of correction facility.  

To get admission at Visvesvaraya Technological University BTech programme, candidates must make sure to qualify the cousre-wise entrance exams. Qualified candidates can proceed with the VTU admission process, which is as follows:

Step 1: Application process

Candidates must visit the official website and select the programme they want to apply to. The application process requires candidates to fill the online application form with all the required details and attach all relevant documents and certificates.

Step 2: Interview, entrance exam, and GP

Candidates' application forms will be scrutinised and selection will be made based on the eligibility criteria. Selected candidates will be invited for a counselling interview. Candidates can choose any options for the interview process, which are one-on-one, online, or telephonic. Additionally, candidates must also appear for the entrance exam, personal interview, and group discussion as per the programme requirements.

Step 3: Merit List/Cutoff/Counseling

Wait for the merit list to be announced by the college. The merit list will be based on the entrance exam scores and other criteria such cutoffs, academic performance, work experience, etc. Attend the counselling process and follow the guidelines provided by the college. 

Step 3: Seat offer

Once the application process and interviews are completed, the college admission official sends an admission offer to the candidates. Candidate must accept the offer by confirming it and paying the course fees.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) admissions 2024 are entrance based. Candidates who wish to take admission to VTU BTech proramme must appear for the entrance examination. The College does not offer direct admission to candidates in any of the programmes. Candidates who wish to take admission to the BTech programme must appear for either KCET or COMEDK and qualify the eligiblity criteria.

According to the latest notice by COMEDK official website, Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka ( COMEDK) UGET will be conducted on 12th May 2024 . 

Application forms will be released shortly during the month of March. ( Tentative) 

The expected last date to register for Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) UGET Examination will be during the month of April . ( Tentative). 

The registration process will be accepted through online mode only. Candidates can visit the official website to know more about the examination in detail.

Karnataka Examinations Authority has closed the KCET 2025 application form. Candidates could fill out the KCET application form at kea.kar.nic.in. Applicants were advised to fill out the KCET application form 2025 at the earliest to avoid last-minute payment failure issues. The candidates who fill the KCET application form on or before the last date will be issued hall tickets as per the schedule. The last date to fill KCET application form was February 24.
