Great faculty and placements.
Placements: The placements are still ongoing for the 2026 batch of the B.E. CSE course. Companies like Kickdrum and LSEG have offered the highest package for CSE and aligned branches, offering 15 LPA. Other companies visiting the campus are Oracle, Cognizant, LTIMindtree, IBM, HP, Bosch, etc. The lowest package is around 3.6 LPA, and the highest is 15 LPA.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are Wi-Fi-enabled. The library is huge, spacious, and open for long hours. Infrastructure overall is very good, and the management is taking steps to improve upon it by building new blocks and buildings for expansion, etc. The CSE department at RNSIT is one of the most active and well-equipped departments on campus. The labs have good systems with fast internet and all the required software, so students can easily work on projects and coding practice. The classrooms are smart-class enabled, which makes learning more interactive and engaging.
Faculty: The teachers of the CSE department are extremely experienced, knowledgeable, and willing to use their time to help guide the students even outside of class hours. They are always open to questions and offer guidance for projects, research papers, etc. The curriculum itself for VTU batch students does not make them industry-ready, but now that the college has been promoted to autonomous status, these improvements can be expected. The faculty provides great notes for study and exam preparation for each and every subject.
Other: Events and fests are organised regularly both within the department and on the entire campus. Other opportunities, like Samsung Innovation Campus training programs, are available to students where they are trained in subjects like AI and can get certified by Samsung. The faculty members are experienced, helpful, and approachable. They not only focus on teaching the syllabus but also encourage students to participate in hackathons, coding contests, and research activities.

We have strong placements and vibrant campus life.
Placements: The placement record in my batch is strong. The top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, and Deloitte, offering roles such as software developer, business analyst, and system engineer. The highest package offered is around 41 LPA 2025, the lowest is 3 LPA, and the average is 7 LPA.
Infrastructure: All the sports are entertained in our college, hostel food is hygienic, and the canteen has a variety of menus. The library is very wide and a peaceful place to study, almost till 11 pm we can stay at the library. Laboratories are very upgraded, and we have new electronic gadgets installed in our college.
Faculty: Teaching quality is excellent. Teachers are very good at clearing our doubts. We have good industrial visits to the Infosys industry, survey camps are done, and exams are conducted strictly. The Medal of Merit is given to the top 3 students and is presented in front of the RN Shetty Memorial.
Other: Events are done in a good way, and the crowd is also increasing year by year.

Best for placements for B.Tech.
Placements: 99% of students are easily placed in mass recruiter companies in my college. The highest package offered in my course is 55 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 2.5 LPA. The average package is about 7 LPA in my course. Adobe, Infosys, and Wipro are top recruiting companies for our course. About 20% of students got internships in our course. Recruiting companies are Infosys, Accenture, etc. Software developer and data analyst are the top roles offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, and classroom facilities are above average. Classes are well-equipped with top-notch facilities. Labs are fully equipped with the latest technology and software. The quality of food is average in our mess. Canteen is also average as they cannot fulfill your hunger and taste. Sports and games are above average as our college has its own sports quota in Karnataka.
Faculty: Teachers are decent as they are able to transfer their knowledge properly to the students. Most of the teachers are well qualified as they have done masters and Ph.D. from certified college. Our curriculum is also good as it covers the latest syllabus for CSE and it makes sure students are ready for the placements. Semester exams in our college are easy and pass percentage is about 35%.
Other: I chose my course because RNSIT CSE branch has decent placements. There are lots of fests and events taking place in our college. Cultural clubs are also available in RNSIT which can help students grow their overall personality development.

A glimpse into the life of a student at RNSIT.
Placements: Great placements are happening in this college, and the placement club is also very good in terms of placements. The companies are also coming to recruit students. Placements are offering good packages. The companies are good and reputable. So far, the companies coming are good.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are provided to the students, and the rooms are triple-sharing. They are well-fit and well-maintained. Due to this, colleges charge a sum of around 1 lakh, and this is relatively very high compared to other colleges. But then again, everything that is being done by the college is good.
Faculty: Faculty members of our department are very good with their subjects, and these people actually do teach us very well. They are very knowledgeable teachers, and due to this the quality of the education that is being provided is very good. Hence, the overall money worthiness of the college is great.

Student experience and course insights - CSE at RNSIT.
Placements: As I am currently in my first year and haven't graduated yet. I don't have firsthand experience with placements. However, based on information shared by seniors and faculty members, around 85-90% of eligible students in the CSE department get placed each year. The highest package has gone up to 48 LPA and the average package range between 6-8 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Adobe, VISA, Infosys, Samsung, Wipro, and also several promising startups. The most common roles offered are software developed, data analyst, full-sack developed, cloud engineer, and also roles in AIML and cybersecurity.
Infrastructure: RNSIT offers a well-maintained infrastructure with spacious classrooms, a fully stocked library, and high-speed internet across the campus. The canteen serves a decent variety of food at reasonable prices. Hostel facilities are clean and secure, with separate blocks for boys and girls. Recreational space and seminar halls are also well-equipped to support student activities.
Faculty: Teachers at RNSIT are highly qualified, supportive, and always ready to help students beyond classroom hours, especially during projects and hackathons. The CSE curriculum is regularly updated and includes industry-relevant subjects, helping students become job-ready. Semester exams are moderately challenging, but with proper preparation, most students perform well.
Other: I chose CSE at RNSIT because of my strong interest in technology, programming, and the wide career opportunities in the field. The best things about this course are hands-on practical learning, supportive faculty members, good placement training, and exposure to real-world projects and hackathons. There are a lot of events, and fests regularly going on in our college and also the college is well connected by public transport. The surroundings are really peaceful and also provide ample opportunities for extracurricular activities and student clubs.

For students from Karnataka to be admitted into a variety of professional programmes, the state government of Karnataka administers the Common Entrance Test (CET). The CET is typically held in April or May, and notices will be published in all major publications. The top engineering schools in Karnataka include RNSIT.

Based on the combined performance in PUC/XII Std. and CET, a merit list will be created.

According to the approved intake, a seat matrix displaying the available seats in various institutions and branches is announced.

Reservations are made for various categories, but admissions are made on the basis of merit.

On a specific day, students will be contacted for document verification; the announcement will be made on the CET website.
