Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) - Batch of 2027
4.6
Good placements for BCA and engineering, and a pretty big campus of around 350 acres.
Placements: This year's placement is pretty bad. Fewer companies have appeared for BCA. Moreover, most of them are service-based, like a call centre. Only Deloitte and De Shaw came up with a 20 LPA+ package rest of them are 2-3 LPA. Only one got placed with 26 LPA, and some got 3.5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The library is the top notch. Night library till 1 for students, and almost all books are available. Classrooms are decent with all smart facilities. Labs are pretty good with almost all labs with high-end machines. Hostels are pretty good if you take AC. Non-AC rooms are dorms, literally.
Faculty: Teachers are good if we choose them properly, or have ffcs where we can choose faculty members and slots (evg. Or morng), so pretty good. Fees are decent when I joined, I had a tuition fee of Rs. 50,000 per year, but now it's 1kh. Semester exams are pretty good and moderate if you study well.
Other: There's Gravitas, the tech fest that lasts about 3 days top event, and then there's Riviera and many fest and there's chapters and clubs. It's a bit overcrowded.

I am satisfied because of the good infrastructure and good placements.
Placements: So, coming to the placements in BCA, the eligible CGPA for placements is above 8. If 9, it is better as about 94 percent of students get placed, as the recruiter company conducts its own exam to get into their company. The package offered ranges from 3-7 LPA for the BCA course. The college will not provide internships. We have to search for internships. The top role offered is developer.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. In VIT, all students will have the same facilities that will not differ. Our college infrastructure is a very good place to study. It will provide Wi-Fi only in the library. Hostels have their specific range, like single person per room, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 8 sharing rooms. The hostel fee may vary, and for 7 days, they will provide different kinds of food in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified. They will teach according to students perspective. There are only a few teachers, as they just read the PPT and run away. The BCA subjects are the same as the M.Tech and B.Tech syllabus in VIT. They make us study in depth. BCA students have a low syllabus compared to B.Tech and M.Tech. Exams are moderate because they will ask scenario questions and not direct questions.
Other: I have to finish my studies, and I want to prepare for the government examination, so I chose this course. VIT will conduct many events, and the Reviera is famous for that.

Disappointed because of placements and internship but really good facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: Placements are below average and around 3 LPA-4 LPA is considered a dream offer. Not many people are getting placed (around 50 out of 270) and it's not that many technical jobs but some are business-related. As for internship it's not provided for this course by the college.
Infrastructure: College classrooms are very nice, properly clean, lit, and sound. Every facility is top-notch. Hostels are the same, everything from beds, cupboards, food, mess, and amenities is very good. The library is one of the best in the country. The college puts a lot of effort into maintaining its standard yearly.
Faculty: Faculty members are very nice, well-educated, and have proper knowledge. The course curriculum is updated every 2-3 years to stay relevant with the current job market and is good. Exams are not that hard if you study properly and the pass rate is usually around 95 percent.
Other: I chose this course since I could learn job-relevant knowledge without the rat race and unnecessary competition of JEE. Considering that, it has been very good so far. There isn't much that can be improved but providing internship opportunities would be a great step for BCA. The campus also hosts some of the best events in the country like Gravitas and Riveria. They also provide merit-based awards and scholarships for students.

Review about BCA in VIT Vellore.
Placements: In batch they have come only few companies. Most of the companies was product based only and some what software based company last in my BCA 4boys got selected in amazon for 24 lkh it was the highest package in vit BCA history were compare to teach students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for BCA is very good in VIT compared to other colleges and universities. It has well-equipped and fully air-conditioned labs. Classrooms are very clean. There are more than 12 canteens, so there is no problem with food in VIT. There is also a healthcare center inside the campus. VIT encourages sports and games very well. In the hostel, all things are good, but there are some issues with the food.
Faculty: In VIT, the BCA curriculum is equivalent to the B.Tech curriculum, with a very strong syllabus. Every semester, we need to complete projects that provide practical knowledge, and we can also conduct research. Faculty members support us in this process. All study materials are uploaded on our portal, VTOP, where we can download and read the content. We also need to submit assignments on that portal.
Other: In VIT, events are held every day, with two main events called Gravitas and Riviera. Gravitas is focused on technical events, clubs, and chapter activities, and Riviera is a full-fledged fest.

    Good infrastructure and good facilities.
Placements: 90% of the students are getting placed. The highest package is above 6 lacs, the average is 3-6 lacs, and the lowest is up to 3 lacs per annum. IT companies like Amazon and Wipro are recruiting. Placements are ongoing. The highest priority is given to coding. Top roles are in coding, and non-coding subjects are also helpful for placements.
Infrastructure: In VIT hostels, Wi-Fi is provided. Labs are very convenient for students when they have work. Classrooms have CCTV cameras. The library is a helpful place where students can acquire knowledge. Food is also good in VIT compared to other colleges. Nutritious food is available to students in hostels.
Faculty: Teachers help the students in a good way; they motivate and give guidance to each student. Teaching quality is also good. BCA is a good choice for students, industry-wise. Students have to get 40 marks out of 100 in semester exams, and the pass percentage is also nearly 90.
Other: I chose BCA for software purposes. In this course, many options are available like B.Tech but exclude subjects like physics and chemistry. Events and fests are very good, and students can gain credit for extracurricular activities.

Review of VIT Vellore main campus (A small city).
Placements: The placements for Bachelor's of Computer Application are not that good. Some students get very good packages like more than 20 LPA but most students do not get more than 3 LPA. If you want a good placement you need to study yourself. So if you are coming work on your skill.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. They provide everything but it is very crowded. You have to compete for everything. The classes and labs are good. About the hostel, food is average, the hostel is good, and the sports facilities in the hostel are also good.
Faculty: The faculty of the college is average. Some are very good, but some are bad. The curriculum is not the best but it is better than many other private colleges. They try to update the curriculum to what is required to learn in the current tech market but they can do better.

    More than just a college.
Placements: A total of 350 students study as a batch in my department. The highest package in VIT is 30 LPA, with an average package of 12 LPA. Companies like Accenture and AWS visit every year for placements.
Infrastructure: VIT is known for its excellent infrastructure. It provides all the facilities a student needs. The classrooms and labs are equipped with modern amenities, including smart classrooms and 24/7 access to computers. The library is vast and holds thousands of books and journals.
Faculty: VIT's faculty provides top-quality education, with many having excellent academic backgrounds. They are friendly and supportive, often encouraging students to engage in research to bring out their best potential. The faculty are truly the pillars of VIT and its students' careers.

    Satisfying experience at VIT.
Placements: Around 70% of students get placements, with the highest package ever offered to a fresher being 1.2 crores, the lowest at 2 LPA, and an average of 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Cognizant, and IBM. Around 40% of students secured internships. Top roles offered were Software Developer and IT Specialist.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great! Our department has excellent Wi-Fi, modern labs, spacious classrooms, and a well-stocked library. Hostel facilities are good, with clean rooms and decent mess food. Canteen options are limited but satisfactory. Medical facilities are available on campus, sports facilities are excellent, and regular tournaments are organized.
Faculty: The faculty is excellent. The teachers are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. Teaching quality is top notch with a focus on practical learning. The curriculum is relevant and industry-oriented, making us job-ready. Semester exams are challenging but manageable with regular studies. The pass percentage is 50%.
