VIT COVID Batch, which has better placement offers than expected.
Placements: In my batch around 60% of students got placement. As this is a Masters degree mostly pharmaceutical and CRO company comes for placement. Some are MNCs. Some top recruiting companies are Zifo, Elli Lilly, LabCorp and Biocon. 30% of students got internships which was later converted to full-time employment. The roles are offered mostly in clinical research and PV areas.
Infrastructure: VIT has a high-teach classroom and lab facility for better understanding. It has multiple buildings one can get lost also as the campus is very huge. The hostel and mess facility is as per as much money as you have. More fees range better experience in both hostel and food.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good, most of the faculty are helpful and will guide you patiently if you have any doubts. But there are some faculty members who are very rude. The course curriculum is very good it follows the global standards. The exam pressure is too much. We have very frequent exams, students get exhausted.
Other: The course I chose had both placement and higher studies options. Though my main goal was getting a placement, if I didn't get so I had a backup plan for higher studies abroad. Some syllabus could have been modified. The event and fest are the best thing about VIT.

Exceptional facilities, strong placement record, and engaging academic environment.
Placements: 70% of students were placed in M.Sc. Biotechnology. The lowest package was 3.75 LPA and the average was 8.19 LPA for M.Sc. Biotechnology. The top recruiting companies are Dr. Reddy, Fortrea, Biocom, Syngene, etc., with 60% of students placed in these companies. Roles offered include research scientists.
Infrastructure: VIT provides a conducive environment with modern facilities and infrastructure to support the academic research and professional development needs of students pursuing biotechnology. Proper Wi-Fi connection, labs with equipment, separate classrooms, the biggest library specialized collection of books journals, etc., the hostel with green surroundings conducive environment to students, proper spacious vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods, Chettinad healthcare center for medical issues. Sports like indoor games, badminton, table tennis, etc.
Faculty: All the teachers are qualified, helpful, and supportive. The course curriculum is relevant, making students industry-ready. The semester exam depends upon the question paper prepared by the faculty, and the pass percentage depends upon the class average. But 40 marks should be obtained out of 100 in each exam.
Other: The course curriculum is relevant and always offers different career opportunities. Improvement in the curriculum would be better. VIT is enhanced with many clubs. Students with record performances in various sports games are selected for the award of sports scholarships. VIT Connect Riveria is organized each year. There are lots of events where students can participate. Extracurricular activities like clubs and music help students cultivate leadership and team-building skills.

A roller coaster journey in VIT.
Placements: I joined in 2021; it started in online mode due to COVID. But eventually offline classes started after 2 months. Overall, it was a good experience. The labs were well maintained with good equipment. Many companies visited, like Lapcorp, TCS, Biocon, Syngeneic, and OG Healthcare. Many were placed. It's all up to you how you perform. The grading system is a bit different from the relatively simple grading system that VIT follows.
Infrastructure: Hostels were both affordable and costly. You will get it based on merit, starting from 30k to 2.5 lpa. AC/non AC 1-6 sharing rooms are there. The labs are well-equipped, with plenty of instruments. Good exposure is there. The library is massive, with a large selection of books available for loan by scanning your ID.
Faculty: 3 exams (CAT1, CAT2 and FAT), 2 digital assignments and 2 set projects per semester. All the teachers were qualified and helpful. But some are not that supportive. The course curriculum is a bit difficult; you have to take on pressure to complete all the exams and projects. Pass percentage is average; if you study, you will pass.
Other: VIT is a bit crowded. But hostel life was great. You will get everything. We have Nescafé shops, juice shops, canteens, cake shops and even Domino's inside our campus.

Placements: Top recruiting companies like Dr Reddy's laboratories, Novozymes, Biocon, Hindustan Unilever and various reputed pharmaceutical companies visit our college for our course placements. Students can apply for various positions like quality control, quality assurance analyst, R&D and bioinformatics field. There is a huge scope in life science field if you work in the right direction. I just entered into final year and not yet up for the placements so I cannot provide adequate information regarding the packages.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. The library is well-equipped. Wi-Fi facility is available both in the library and in the hostels. A health centre is available right inside the campus. The taste of food varies from mess to mess because all the hostels have their own mess. Gym and other sports facilities are available here.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are friendly and approachable. They are well-qualified with a PhD degree and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good, and there should be two-way interaction. Teachers are doing their jobs perfectly so we should do our part too for fruitful results. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready because every semester we do several projects and gain the working experience of the same and get to present our work. Biosummit and other conferences are conducted where students can directly interact with the industry experts.
