It's good, you will have to put in effort to stand out. Competition is hard and you are not alone.
Placements: In the B. Des, Industrial Design at VIT Vellore, I can't really say what the placements are because there are hardly any. Honesty, it depends on your portfolio and is gradually improving as the course gains more visibility. If you approach a company and have a good portfolio. You can get a 10 LPA - 12 LPA starting package.
Infrastructure: Hostels are fine. But as there are around more than 40,000 people living in hostels, it's too crowded. Though the facilities are good. Again, because of the traffic (crowd) Wi-Fi is mostly bad in hostels. Labs and classes are well-equipped. We have a lovely library. It won't really bother you. It's good than most of the other college hostels.
Faculty: Faculty members are overall very nice. Except for this one professor who is taking 2 of the subjects in my first year, design thinking and methodology, and materials and processes, respectively. Other than that, all the subjects are actually good and helpful. The software, you will have to learn on your own. No college is going to sit and teach you step by step.
Other: The best thing about this course is that I get to explore. I am doing this because I wanted to do this, no one forced me and I love this basically. Next is crowd, it is bad and very crowded. But if you can adjust to it, good for you. Also, there are only 2 fests per year, Gravitas (in September) and Riviera (January around).

Our college has a good infrastructure and awesome campus life.
Placements: As of now, students are placed in tech-based companies for UI/UX and industry-related placements are yet to come. More than 30% of students have been placed. Students have been placed in tech companies like Infosys. By opting for this course, you can either go for UI/UX or choose product design.
Infrastructure: The architectural beauty of the design block in our college is next level. You won't feel like you're studying in a college when you enter the design block. Classrooms are open and you'll get free Wi-Fi to surf the web. Macs and Wacom Cintiqs are accessible for everyone in this course. There are 18 hostel blocks for men as of now and the hostel infrastructure is also good. They provide good and healthy food with varieties of dishes.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are qualified and more helpful. They make sure that you learned the topics properly and help you in a friendly way. They make sure that students are industry-ready. Semester exams are only a bit difficult in the first semester. Other than that, it's totally fine.

Infrastructure and campus life are good.
Placements: I am a fresher; I don't know much, but I will tell you what I know. 50% get placements mostly in tech-based companies like Infosys and all, and we should have a minimum 8.5 CGPA. The package ranges from 3.5 LPA to 26 LPA. We get mostly UI/UX design or automobile design jobs.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. I took the H Block hostel apartment type; it is costly but very spacious. Wi-Fi is good, and the food is also good. We have a health center within VIT with a medical shop, and we have a basketball court, badminton court, and all to play. The mess is also neat.
Faculty: Teachers are experienced and teach well. They are friendly, and we are literally like friends with them. The course curriculum has completely changed this year. It is hands-on and drawing, so it's like skill development. I am still in my 1st semester as of now. The assessments were neither hard nor easy, just average, and I don't know the pass percentage.
Other: I love designing and drawing. It is my favorite, and I love it here. There are events and fests, and campus life is great.
