A:

The GATE cutoff is the minimum mark that an aspirant needs to score to be eligible for admission to M.Tech, M.Sc. And Ph.D. courses offered at the participating institutes. There are several factors based on which the cutoff is decided. Those who will obtain the GATE cutoff will be eligible to participate in the CCMT counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs, and COAPS for admission to IITs. Therefore, factors that determine the GATE cutoff are:

The difficulty level of the GATE question paper. The number of candidates taking the paper. The total number of available seats. The marks obtained by the aspirants. Category under which the candidate is seeking admission.

Q:   How much GATE score is required for IIT Kanpur?
A:

IIT Kanpur accepts GATE scores for admission to the M.Tech course. As per the GATE COAP round 1 cutoff, the most competitive course was Microelectronics and VLSI with a closing rank of 935 for the General AII India category students. If you're not able to receive OTP while applying at IIT Kanpur, try resending or reloading the sent OTP. Wait for atleast 15-20 minutes or change the current netword settings. If this does not fix the problem of OTP not getting loaded, try using a different Email Id or phone no.
