Jamia admission to all the BA (Hons) specialisations is based on a candidate's performance in the University-conducted entrance exam called Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam. The JMI Entrance Exam is conducted annually in offline mode at seven examination centres, including Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Srinagar and Kolkata. The application window for Jamia Millia Islamia BA (Hons) admission generally opens in May every year. JMI selection criteria includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of scores obtained in JMI exam. For some courses candidates are required to also appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). As per the general guidelines released by JMI, the minimum qualifying marks in Objective Type/MCQs is 15% and in Descptive Questions is 30%.
The eligibility criteria for each course is different. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam. For UG course, candidates must have passed Intermediate with at least 50 per cent marks from any board. For PG course, graduate degree with at least 50 per cent marks from any recognised university is required.
The total seat intake for MBA programme for all the offered specialisations is 254 at Jamia Millia Islamia. Jamia MBA admission is completely entrance-based at Jamia Millia Islamia University. At the postgraduate level, Jamia offers numerous MBA and E-MBA programmes to students in the field of Management. This two-year course is offered as a General course and is also provided across numerous specialisations, namely International Business, Entrepreneurship and Family Business and Healthcare and Hospital Management, among others

- If seats remain vacant in the categories of women applicants and OBC-NCL, then those seats will be transferred to the Muslim minority category.

- NCC Cadets and NSS Volunteers will be eligible for a relaxation of 5% and 2%, respectively in the aggregate of the qualifying examination.

- SC/ST/OBC Scholarship: This scholarship is given to the reserved category candidates. Economically weak candidates are also eligible for this scholarship.
