Okhla, Delhi, is where this central university is situated. Jamia Millia Islamia University was first founded in Aligarh, United Province, in 1920. (Now Uttar Pradesh). It was relocated to its current location in 1935.
JMI is accredited with an A Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and ranked third by NIRF 2021. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), and a member of the UGC.
Beginning with the academic year 2022–2023, the university began accepting undergraduate admissions under the CUET name. It announced this in November 2021 and is now accepting applications for the CUET Exam, which will be administered by NTA (National Testing Agency). Jamia Millia Islamia administered university entrance tests till 2021 to choose applicants for a variety of UG and PG programs.
Ranked 3rd in the country under NIRF ranking 2022 by the Ministry of Education, Jamia is considered to be one of the primary options for the students to pursue their undergraduate and postgraduate education in the field of Arts, Law, Science and Engineering. In the field of Arts and Humanities, some of the popular BA (Hons) specialisations include Mass Media (Hindi), Economics, English, among others. In addition to these popular specialisations, Jamia Millia Islamia offers BA (Hons) programme across 17 specialisations along with a BA programme. Despite the popularity, it is always recommended that the selection of specialisation in any course must depend on students’ stream, interest and academic background.
Economics, Hindi, Sanskrit, Spanish & Latin American Studies, French and Turkish Language & Literature will consider CUET scores for admission starting 2022. Jamia Millia Islamia offers BA (Hons) programme across 17 specialisations along with a BA programme. For all the remaining specialisations (other than the aforementioned ones, the university will conduct its own entrance exam, namely JMI Entrance Exam for final admission. However, before every other criteria, all the interested students must have completed their Class 12 with 50% aggregate.

1. BTech Electrical Engineering/ BTech Computer Science and Engineering/ BTech Civil Engineering
Mode: Full-time
Duration: 4 Years
Jamia Millia Islamia offers a four-year BTech program across five specialisations. The overall annual seat intake for BTech is 350 students. Candidates, who meet the eligibility criteria of the respective programs, can apply for Jamia Millia Islamia University admission.
Admission Process: Admission for foreign students in UG/PG program is done through DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad) based on their SAT Score.
Jamia Millia Islamia offers a four-year BTech program, admission to which is offered based on JEE Main exam.
Eligibility Criteria
A pass in Sr. Sec. School certificate (or Class 12)/ intermediate or its equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their chief subjects, with not less than 55% aggregate in PCM OR diploma holders in Engineering with not less than 55% marks (recognised by AICTE or a state board of technical education) of three to the four-year duration can also apply.

Jamia MBA admission is completely entrance-based at Jamia Millia Islamia University. At the postgraduate level, Jamia offers numerous MBA and E-MBA programs to students in the field of Management. This two-year course is offered as a general course and is also provided across numerous specialisations, namely International Business, Entrepreneurship and Family Business and Healthcare and Hospital Management, among others.
Admission Process: With an annual intake of over 200 students for MBA programs (including all the specialisations), MBA admission at Jamia Millia Islamia is based on the performance of candidates in the JMI Entrance Exam followed by a Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round.
