The first step is to pay INR 1200 application fee in online mode.
Applicants should register for VITMEE, a Computer Based Objective test at indicated test centres.
The list of short-listed candidates will be published on the website or personal SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number for online VITMEE counselling.
Shortlisted Candidates will be asked to choose the preference of campus and branch. Selected candidates will have to pay an advance payment of INR 1 lakh.
Candidates who fail to pay in advance before the deadline will not be considered for admission.
Candidates who have secured a rank upto 1 Lacs will be eligible for B.Tech admissions into VIT Vellore and Chennai. The counselling dates for different ranks varies as per the authorities. For those candidates with a rank above 1 Lacs, admissions will be open only for VIT Bhopal and VIT Andhra Pradesh. They will not be eligible for VIT Vellore and Chennai admissions.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria: Students for admission to the Bachelor of Technology (BTech) program must have passed class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 55% from a recognised board. Students should have appeared for the VITEEE exam conducted by the institution or JEE Mains exam. Students should have scored the good percentage for getting admission in this course.
Course Curriculum: BTech is a four-year program, divided into eight semesters with two semesters per year. This program helps learners to develop their knowledge in problem identification and development of solutions in Engineering & Technology.
Fee Structure: Total fee to be paid ranges from INR 1,76,000 to INR 1,98,000 for the first year according to the course selected. This includes tuition fees, sports fees, study material and other expenses.
Yes, the GATE exam score is valid for admissions to M.Tech courses at Vellore Institute of Technology. Applicants can also apply through the VITMEE exam score 2026. Candidates appearing through the GATE score must upload their scorecard at the time of filling the application form.

No, candidates can not get direct admission in VIT Vellore. The college provides an admission process to students on the basis of an entrance exam for the majority of the courses. Some of the popular national-level entrance exams accepted by the college are NATA, GATE, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, etc.
