Q:   How is the final IPMAT score calculated?
A:

IPMAT score is determined on the basis of correct answers marked by aspirants in the IPMAT exam. For each correct answer, candidates are awarded four marks. For an incorrect answer, one mark is deducted from the candidates' total score. This means that for five correct answers, 20 marks will be added to the total score. The raw score of candidates is scaled to calculate the composite score. Candidates who match the IPMAT cutoff criteria are further called for the Personal Interview round.

For final results, 65% weightage is given to the scores obtained by the candidates in the IPMAT exam and 35% weightage is given to the candidate's performance in the Personal Interview (PI).

Q:   What is the expected IPMAT cutoff?
A:

Refer to the table below to know the category-wise IPMAT 2025 expected cutoff:

SectionExpected IPMAT cutoff 2025 (Section-wise)

Q:   Why is the ATS score important in IPMAT?
A:

A high ATS score or the Aptitude Test Score means higher chances of getting a Personal Interview call from IPMAT Indore. The ATS score is based on the performance of the students in the IPMAT exam. The ATS is calculated using the below-mentioned formula:

ATS Score = (Candidate's score / Maximum score) X 100

An ATS score is a defining factor in deciding the candidate's chances of being called for a Personal Interview.

IPMAT Indore 2025 Selection Criteria

Admissions to IIM Indore's Five-Year Integrated Management Programme are based on the scores obtained by the students in IPMAT written exam, Personal Interview/Group Discussion. The exam authorities release a list of eligible candidates after the IPMAT exam who can appear for the Personal Interview. The final selection of candidates will be conducted based on the Composite Scores (CS) computed based on the following.

A higher ATS score in the IPMAT exam can mean increased chances of getting a PI call from IIM Indore. The ATS score is based on the performance of the students in the IPMAT exam. The ATS is calculated using the following formula:

ATS Score = (Candidate's score / Maximum score) X 100

An ATS score is a defining factor in deciding the candidate's chances of being called for a Personal Interview. The ATS score is calculated section-wise. For example, if the candidate scored 32 out of 50, the ATS score will be: (32/50) X 100= 156

Raw scores are converted to ATS scores and then the composite score is calculated after the PI round.

Q:   How is the IPMAT counselling process conducted?
A:

After the IPMAT exam results are declared, shortlisted candidates are invited for counselling. The counselling process typically involves document verification, seat allocation based on merit, and choice filling. However,  a general outline of how the IPMAT counselling process is typically conducted is as follows:

  1. After the IPMAT exam is conducted, IIM Indore releases a list of shortlisted candidates who are eligible to participate in the counselling process after a few days.

  2. Shortlisted candidates receive call letters and emails containing details of the counselling dates, venue, and instructions for the counselling process.

  3. Candidates then have to appear for a Personal Interview conducted by IIM Indore in about 8 cities in India.
  4. During counselling, candidates must carry the documents for verification, such as IPMAT scorecard, admit card, Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets, passing certificates, category certificate, domicile certificate, photo ID proof, passport-sized photographs, etc.

  5. Seats are allotted to candidates based on their IPMAT rank. After the seat allotment, candidates who are satisfied with their allotted seat need to confirm their acceptance by paying the required admission fees within the specified time frame. This step confirms their seat in the programme.

  6. In case of any vacant seats or withdrawal of candidates, there might be additional rounds of counseling or a waitlist to fill those seats.
