IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025 For General All India Category 

For candidates belonging to the General AI quota, the JEE Advanced last round ranks were in the range of 592 and 17665 for admission to various undergraduate courses. Considering the ranks, BTech in Computer Science and Engineering and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) were the most and the least competitive courses for admission. The lower the cutoff rank, the higher the competitiveness of the course and vice versa. 

Within the BTech course, the top three most competitive branches for admission were CSE, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence and Electronics and Communication Engineering, with the last round closing ranks of 592, 845 and 1486, respectively. For more details, check out the table given below:

The IIT Roorkee cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 5 for BTech, Integrated BTech and BArch courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. As per cutoffs 2024, JEE Advanced rank is 19885 for the IIT Roorkee BArch course for General AI category. For female candidates in the general category under the All India quota, 19354 was the closing rank. 

For 2022 and 2023, the Round 5 closing cutoff was 17464 and 20728, respectively for the General category students. So, comparing the 2024 Round 5 cutoff with the previous years, IIT Roorkee witnessed a fluctuating trend for BArch. 

Q:   What is the cutoff rank for IIT Roorkee?
A: 

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) at IIT Roorkee other than General category are - 5783 for OBC, 3162 for SC, 1382 for ST, 2804 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025 For OBC All India Category 

Compared with the General AI category, the JEE Advanced cutoff ranks were more competitive for admission among the students belonging to the OBC category under the AI quota. For CSE, the last round closing rank was 253 in the OBC category, while in the General category, the cutoff concluded at 592. For other specialisations, such as Chemical, ECE and Civil Engineering as well, the cutoff ranks were more stringent in the OBC category as compared to that of the General category. The JEE Advanced last round closing rank was 2253 for Chemical Engineering, 721 for Electronics and Communication Engineering and 2967 for the Civil Engineering branch.

IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025 For SC All India Category

IIT Roorkee SC category cutoff 2025 was released for BTech, BArch, Integrated B.Sc. + M.Sc and other courses. For all these courses, the cutoff was released as opening and closing ranks based on candidates' performance in the JEE Advanced entrance exam, followed by the JoSAA counselling process. Considering the last round closing ranks, Computer Science and Engineering (129) was the most competitive branch for admission, followed by Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (234) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (398). 

On the otherhand, the easy-to-grab options were B.Tech in Production and Industrial Engineering and B.Tech. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, with JEE Advanced last round closing ranks of 1717 and 2119, respectively.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria for Free Messing Scheme at IIT Roorkee?
A: 

Under the Free Messing scheme, a student can avail of a free messing (only basic menu) facility and a pocket allowance of INR 250 per month. Such students are also exempted from payment of hostel room rent. In case a student does not seek free messing, he/she gets a pocket allowance of INR 1,000 per month. To avail Free Messing scheme, a student is expected to fulfil the following conditions:

  • Applicant belongs to SC or ST category.
  • The applicant is a student of BTech, BArch, Integrated Dual Degree (IDD), Integrated Master of Technology (IMT), Integrated Master of Science (IMS), and BS-MS programmes admitted through JEE (Advanced) or MSc programmes admitted through JAM.
  • The Gross Income of parents (Father and Mother or Guardian) during the previous financial year is not more than INR 5 LPA.
Q:   How can I be eligible for MBA programme at IIT Roorkee?
A: 

To be eligible for MBA programme offered at IIT Roorkee, candidates need to possess a graduation degree/ professional qualification in any stream from a UGC-recognised university with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). Final year students are also eligible to apply. The course is offered by the B-school under IIT Roorkee, namely DOMS IIT Roorkee. 

IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025 For ST All India Category

For the ST category students under the AI quota, the JEE Advanced cutoff ranks in the first round ranged from 74 to 1374. In the last round, the cutoff range increased to 77 to 1492. Consistent with the previous categories mentioned above, CSE stands as the most sought-after branch for this category as well for admission, with the cutoff being 74 in the first round and 77 in the last round. Students with a cutoff rank above 100 can choose other BTech specialisations, such as Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc., with lenient JEE Advanced last round closing ranks of 243 and 332, respectively. For PWD category students, the cutoff was released only for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering, and B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering. For CSE, the cutoff was highly competitive, with a JEE Advanced last-round closing rank of 25. For ECE, the first- and last-round closing ranks were 64 and 86, respectively. For the Electrical Engineering branch, the JEE Advanced first-round closing rank was 120, which increased to 169 in the final round, indicating less competition for admission.

To get admission in IIT Roorkee MSc, students have to appear for the IIT JAM exam. Students have to then particpate in centralised counselling through which seats are allocated. Selected students have to report for verification of documents and pay the admission fees to complete the process.

No, students can not get admission in IIT Roorkee MSc with GATE scores. The institute accepts IIT JAM score only. No other tests including GATE are accepted. Students also have to appear for the centralised counselling to get a seat.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
