IIT Roorkee Cutoff 2025: Check Category-wise JEE Advanced Cutoff Rank

IIT Roorkee is one of the top IITs which offer BTech courses based on JEE Advanced scores. Candidates with various All India categories has applied to get admission at IIT Roorkee for top courses like CSE, IT, and Artificial Intelligence. Among all the categories, the OBC AI category candidates encountered a cutoff range between 236 and 6973. Wherein, the CSE, and DS and AI cutoff stood at 236 and 421. Considering the cutoff data, we should aim a rank of 200 to get easy selection for the aforementioned courses in JEE Advanced exam 2025.

IIT Roorkee offers BTech specialisations on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. The cutoff depends on a few factors such as category and gender. The IIT Roorkee cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 5 for BTech, Integrated BTech and BArch courses in the form of opening and closing ranks. As per cutoffs 2024, JEE Advanced rank is 19885 for the IIT Roorkee BArch course for General AI category. For female candidates in the general category under the All India quota, 19354 was the closing rank. 

For 2022 and 2023, the Round 5 closing cutoff was 17464 and 20728, respectively for the General category students. So, comparing the 2024 Round 5 cutoff with the previous years, IIT Roorkee witnessed a fluctuating trend for BArch. 

The last year 2022 cutoff ranks for Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) at IIT Roorkee other than General category are - 5783 for OBC, 3162 for SC, 1382 for ST, 2804 for EWS. While the admissions are based on the scores/rank obtained in JEE exam, the last cut offs also change a lot depending on All India quota or Home State. It also varies if the applicant is a female.

To get into IIT Roorkee, students must target a maximum rank of up to 3569 for BTech admission for the OBC AI category. The lower the cutoff rank, the higher the probability of getting the top B.Tech. branch for admission. The required cutoff rank varies for different rounds, courses, specialisations and categories. IIT Roorkee JAM cutoff 2025 was released for round 1. The cutoff was released for admission to MSc specialisations. The cutoff ranks varied between 23 and 223. The cutoff was most stringent for admission to MSc in Economics and most lenient for admission to M.Sc. in Mathematics. Given below are the branch-wise cutoff ranks for the General AI category candidates.

Under the Free Messing scheme, a student can avail of a free messing (only basic menu) facility and a pocket allowance of INR 250 per month. Such students are also exempted from payment of hostel room rent. In case a student does not seek free messing, he/she gets a pocket allowance of INR 1,000 per month. To avail Free Messing scheme, a student is expected to fulfil the following conditions:

• Applicant belongs to SC or ST category.
• The applicant is a student of BTech, BArch, Integrated Dual Degree (IDD), Integrated Master of Technology (IMT), Integrated Master of Science (IMS), and BS-MS programmes admitted through JEE (Advanced) or MSc programmes admitted through JAM.
• The Gross Income of parents (Father and Mother or Guardian) during the previous financial year is not more than INR 5 LPA.

To be eligible for MBA programme offered at IIT Roorkee, candidates need to possess a graduation degree/ professional qualification in any stream from a UGC-recognised university with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates). Final year students are also eligible to apply. The course is offered by the B-school under IIT Roorkee, namely DOMS IIT Roorkee. 

To be eligible for MBA admission at IIT Roorkee, candidates need to possess a graduation degree/ professional qualification in any stream from a UGC-recognised university with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).

Apart from this the entrance exam scores are also considered by the institute for admission to the MBA programme. For IIT graduates the entrance exam scores are not required their admissions are completely based on their personal interview conducted in the institute campus. 

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For general category under All India, opening rank was 396 and closing rank was 412. Cut off are differant when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 164 and 1165. Admission to B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering in IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology is based on the scores obtained in the entrance exam JEE Advanced. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

IIT Roorkee accepts UCEED exam scores for admission to BDes courses at IIT Roorkee. The cutoff for BDes is released category-wise throughout different rounds. The last-round closing rank for BDes at IIT Roorkee, for the General AI category candidates was closed at 110. For the OBC AI candidates, the last-round closing rank for BDes admission was closed at 65. 

IIT Roorkee accepts IIT JAM scores for admission to the MSc course. Analysing the IIT JAM cutoff, MSc in Economics was turned out to be the most competitive specialisations when compared it with the other four specialisations. For Mathematics, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 247 and 272, respectively for the Economically Weaker Section category candidates for the All India Quota. So, considering the 2023 cutoff ranks, yes a candidate can get into IIT Roorkee with 200 rank in IIT JAM for MSc in Mathematics.
