I am very satisfied with the college.

Placements: In the electrical engineering program for the 2025 batch, 131 out of 170 students received job offers. The highest salary package was 60 LPA, while the lowest was 10 LPA. Leading companies that recruited students include Graviton, Microsoft, Amazon, Texas Instruments, Google, and many others. Additionally, 88 out of 172 students secured internships with companies such as Texas Instruments, Google, Amazon, and Deutsche Bank. The top roles offered were software development engineer and data analyst.

Infrastructure: Departments are well-equipped with all the instruments and necessary facilities. Everything is ventilated and Wi-Fi is available 24/7. The library is one of the biggest libraries present in North India. Food quality is also decent. Free basic medical facilities are there. Immense exposure to sports and games.

Faculty: Teachers are excellent in their respective fields. Most of them are research-oriented. Courses are designed in a way that creates interest. Semester exams are difficult but passing them is not a tough job since grading is relatively easy. The curriculum is well-designed.

Other: I chose this because I had an interest in it. It can be made more practical rather than relying on theoretical knowledge. Events and fiesta are famous examples of Thomson and Cognizance. There are several scholarships that colleges and alums provide.

IITR EE review I shared my experience.

Placements: For circuital branches, good placements are available. In Electrical Engineering, around 125+ out of 165 students get placed every year. The average package is 20 LPA. Companies from various sectors, including software, tech, consultancy, and electronics, visit the campus and allow EE students to sit for tests. Most students opt for software roles, with a few choosing core roles, and the number of core placements is increasing every year.

Infrastructure: Labs are pretty old but well-maintained. The library is very resourceful, containing books for all courses along with other reference materials. The Wi-Fi quality is excellent. The hostel is very good, and from the 3rd year onwards, boys get single rooms that are quite spacious. Sports facilities are also well maintained.

Faculty: Some professors are very helpful to students, and all of them are highly qualified. Although most students study for exams in the last few days, the curriculum consists of interesting subjects. Except for a few students, almost everyone passed. The difficulty of exams depends on the professor, though many are of medium.

IIT Roorkee Electrical Engineering student review.

Placements: Out of 174 students, nearly 100 get placed every year. This information was not provided to us. Companies such as Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, and PWC recruit from our batch. Around 60% of students are placed in companies like Google Silicon Engineering, Jaguar, PWC, Myntra, etc. The average salary package offered for an electrical engineering student is about 20 LPA.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided separately in both hostel and classrooms. In labs, we are provided with good and well-maintained equipment. Classrooms are also monitored regularly. Library is well-maintained and has good security. In hostel, conditions are a bit uncomfortable, especially in summer, as there is a lot of suffocation and no air conditioning. However, other aspects of the hostel are better. Mess provides good-quality food, but it is more comfortable for South Indian students, with only a few items being good in taste. However, fruits and other services in mess are good in the afternoon. Medical facilities are free and offer a quick response depending on the issue. Sports are also encouraged, with many events held that offer prize money, inter-IIT competitions, and an event called 'Sangram' that was recently held.

Faculty: For this particular course, need to work consistently, and shouldn't slack off for even one day. This course offers more flexibility, choose whatever path they want after graduation. It doesn't just stick to core subjects but allows to explore different career paths. Exams are a little tough, but they are manageable if stay on track continuously. Students should spend a lot of time in lab sessions and practicals. Overall, the course is good, useful, and provides a new experience.

My journey in IIT Roorkee.

Placements: For getting IIT Roorkee in JEE advance, a minimum of 98% is required for students. The highest package offered ranges from 1 crore to 1.5 crores per annum. The average package ranges from 10-15 LPA. The top recruiting companies that I know are Tata Power, Cisco, Siemens Energy, etc. In IIT Roorkee, 70-80% of students got internships from the electrical department in companies like Texas Instruments and Tata Power. My senior friends are currently doing internships in the above-mentioned companies.

Infrastructure: In our college hostel, Wi-Fi is not available. Labs are good but so old. Classrooms are best upgraded and added with some digital equipment for teaching. The library is good. It is peaceful and no one will disturb us because rules are so strict. It has the best quality hostels but the quality of food is sometimes not so good so we have to manage it for some time. Medical facilities are also available, and a first aid kit is available. The canteen structure is so good and impressive. Sports ground is very large and the college is so supportive of sports.

Faculty: All teachers are PhD holders and aged. Some teachers are supportive and helpful but some are very strict. But all are knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good sometimes but it is okay. Difficulty level of semester exams is hard. The pass percentage is 80-90%, which I know.

Other: Because of my JEE advanced score, I got this college through the cap round. The best thing is college did compulsory practicals in real life using projects in the electrical branch. I think he for the electrical branch college should have to arrange some electrical project events to do better. Events and management are fantastic. We are so excited about every event because every event is celebrated with good management and a high budget.

IIT Roorkee is all about people.

Placements: I'm in my prefinal year, and about 80 out of 170 students in our electrical engineering batch got internships with top companies in phase 1. When it comes to senior placements, our college stacks up well against other colleges. As of December, 120 out of 160 seniors had been placed with companies like FAANG, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, BCG, and PWC.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure and facilities at this college are good enough compared to other colleges. The campus is green and pleasant, and the Wi-Fi is fast. The library is open 24/7 during exams, which is very convenient. The hostel is decent, but the food quality is not that good, but it is manageable. Students are not often interested in sports and games, and they spend most of their time on assignments and hectic classes. However, the hostel does provide all the necessary facilities for sports and equipment.

Faculty: The teachers are not helpful. They act as if they are superior to the students. They don't help us. We have to figure things out on our own. All we get from them are PPTs, and then we have to study on our own. A few professors are really excellent, and we appreciate them. It's very challenging to get a good CGPA this semester, as all the students who are here passed the JEE Advanced exam to get in.

Should I choose IIT Roorkee for ECE or IIT Delhi for mechanical engineering? What score do I need in JEE Advance to get a 500 rank?

I think IIT Roorkee with ECE is the better option as compared to IIT Delhi with mechanical. Because of the branch. In future, ECE has more demand than mechanical. Otherwise, both colleges are top most.
