If you are not getting into a government college then you can go for it.
Placements: All students of my batch got placed. The highest package offered is 10 LPA and the lowest package offered is 2 LPA. If you have skills, you can get a better company like Haldia Petrochemical Limited, Worly, Meghalaya Cement, Alivus Life Science, Sukhjit Starch, and Ellenbeeire.
Infrastructure: The quality of food is okay. Wi-Fi is not available in the library because it is too big. You can have access to all the books you need. Infrastructure is good. My classroom consists of 120 students who are divided into 2 batches. Medical facility is given to all.
Faculty: Teacher is average in this college. Mostly they have done their Masters. Teaching quality is average. The course curriculum is according to a new pattern which is helpful for the students. Passing the semester exam is way too easy. You can just heat and pass.

The campus life is very good.
Placements: In the chemical engineering course, almost 80% of students get placed. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the average package is 6 LPA. Many companies like HPL, IOCL, Adani Group, Emami, etc., hire students from the chemical engineering course. 60-70% of students got internships in the above-mentioned companies.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs are very good. Labs have many equipment, and we have a library only for the chemical engineering course. Wi-Fi is always available. The hostel is good, but the mess is not so good. Medical facilities are very good. The college always organises some sports events.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are highly qualified, like M.Tech from IITs. Their teaching is very good. Semester exams are not so tough at all, and if we study regularly, we will get good marks. Teachers also provide all the PDF notes and everything.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in Chemistry and Physics. Every year, many occasions, fests, and sports events are held here. Scholarships are available here.

HIT is known for its Chemical engineering department with good infrastructure and faculty.
Placements: More than 85% of students get placed, and some students will opt for higher studies like M.Tech through GATE and other examinations. Haldia Petrochemical is the best company that offers a package of 9.3 LPA to the chemical engineering students. Apart from that, many companies like Barzar, Asian Paints, Capgemini, etc., hire students with a good salary.
Infrastructure: Food quality is well-maintained. If there is any problem regarding the food, then there is a dedicated system where we can complain about the food. It gives us the assurance to maintain the food quality for the next time, and also provides us with an apology.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is very relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. The difficulty level of the semester exams is moderate. We need 40% to pass semester exams, i.e., 30 marks from the semester, and 10 marks from internals.
Other: Chemical engineering is a very reputable department at HIT, so I chose it. The college provides good placements in this department.

Placements: More than 80% of students get placed. The highest package offered is around 12 LPA by top recruiters in the core and IT sectors. The lowest package is 3 LPA for entry-level roles. The average package offered ranges from 4.5-5 LPA, depending on the branch and students' performance. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, L&T, IBM, Vedanta, and Adani Wilmar. Core companies also visit to hire students from the mechanical, electrical, and chemical branches. Around 60-70% of students from my course received internships through college placements. Companies offering internships include TCS iON, CESC, L&T, Capgemini, and several startups from the Kolkata and Haldia industrial belt.
Infrastructure: In the library, all books are easily available. The fastest internet is provided. Hostels are well-maintained with spacious rooms, Wi-Fi connectivity, purified drinking water, and 24x7 electricity backup. Security is good, and wardens are cooperative. The mess serves a balanced diet with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The taste is average but hygienic. The campus canteen offers more variety and snacks at reasonable prices. The college has a tie-up with a nearby hospital and provides a health center on campus with basic first-aid. A doctor is available during working hours. Labs are well-equipped.
Faculty: All teachers and professors are very friendly and helpful. Their knowledge is amazing. According to my own experience, the chemical engineering course is valuable. Semester exams in our college are basically not so difficult, but sometimes it is. Faculty members are approachable and supportive.
Other: I chose my course because of my interest in technology and engineering, and Haldia Institute of Technology has a strong academic reputation, experienced faculty members, and a good placement record in my field. The course curriculum is well-structured, covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications. Industry exposure through internships, workshops, and seminars is also a plus point. While academics are strong, more industry collaborations and hands-on projects could be introduced. Updated lab equipment and an increase in specialized electives would further enhance learning. The college hosts vibrant cultural fests.

Strong academics and good placements with excellent labs and a vibrant campus life.
Placements: Approximately 85% of students enrolled in our course were successfully placed through campus recruitment drives. Many secured positions in reputed companies across various sectors. The highest package offered in our course was 18 Lacs per annum, while the lowest package was 4 Lacs per annum. The average package stood at around 8 Lacs per annum. Some of the top recruiting companies for our course include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and Cognizant. In addition, several multinational firms and emerging startups also hire our graduates every year. Around 75% of students from our course secured internships during their study period.
Infrastructure: Our Chemical Engineering department is equipped with modern laboratories for fluid mechanics, heat transfers, and reaction engineering, along with a dedicated process simulation lab. Classrooms are smart-enabled with projectors and Wi-Fi connectivity. Students also have access to a well-stocked library, computer centers, and research facilities to support academic and practical learning. The hostel facilities are well-maintained, offering clean rooms with Wi-Fi, regular housekeeping, and 24-hour security. The mess and canteen serve a variety of nutritious meals, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful, well-qualified, and knowledgeable in their subjects. The course curriculum is highly relevant and regularly updated to match current industry standards. It combines a strong theoretical foundation with practical training through labs and projects. Semester exams in our college are moderately challenging, designed to test both theoretical knowledge and practical application. CTs, and internships.
Other: I chose Chemical Engineering because I have always been interested in how raw materials are transformed into useful products. The best things about this course are the balance of theory and practical lab work, and the wide career opportunities in industries like energy, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing. It also develops strong problem-solving and analytical skills. One thing I wish could improve is more industry interaction through guest lectures and industrial visits. Adding more hands-on projects and exposure to the latest simulation software would also help. The campus hosts vibrant technical and cultural fests that bring students together from various colleges.
