I am currently in my 2nd year, and I have seen a lot of other things.

Placements: Our college has overall 93 percent placement rate. My branch of civil engineering has an overall 100 percent placement rate for 2024, and 2025 placement is ongoing. Around 70 percent of students have been placed in ongoing placements with overall well-reputed companies.

Infrastructure: Hostels have very good Wi-Fi facility, and a good mess with top and friendly wardens, but there's an issue that hostels are allotted only for the favourite people in the 2nd year, but in the 1st year everyone has been allotted a hostel. The teachers give night classes if needed in the semester and seminars.

Faculty: Our college is autonomous college with a very well-reputed background from IITs, NITs, and foreign institutions, and exams are well supervised. If any students got back their paper, they get their back paper for only 1500 for all subjects, and the back is not shown in the result.

Other: I am currently in civil engineering, which has one of the best recognitions in our college as a branch because of 100 percent placement rates with very well-qualified facilities.

Placements: In the Civil Engineering department, around 80-90 percent of students from the recent passing-out batch secured placements through campus recruitment or off-campus opportunities. The highest package is 7 LPA-9 LPA, the lowest package is 2 LPA-2.5 LPA, and the average package is 4.2 LPA-5.8 LPA. Top Recruiting companies are L&T Construction, Ultratech Cements, Tata Projects, Afcons Infrastructure, and ACC Cement.

Infrastructure: The Civil Engineering department of Haldia Institute of Technology has well-developed academic and laboratory facilities. The department provides high-speed campus Wi-Fi, smart classrooms with projectors, and dedicated laboratories for all major subjects, such as surveying lab, concrete technology lab, strength of materials lab, structural engineering lab, soil mechanics lab, transportation engineering lab, fluid mechanics lab, and environment engineering lab.

Faculty: The teachers in the Civil Engineering department are helpful, experienced, and knowledgeable in their subjects. Most of them explain concepts clearly and support students during labs, projects, and doubt sessions, which makes the overall teaching quality quite good. The curriculum followed by the institute is relevant to the industry, covering essential subjects like structural analysis, geotech, environmental engineering, transportation, and design software skills. It provides a strong foundation and helps students become industry-ready when combined with internships and practical exposure.

Other: I chose Civil Engineering because I have always been interested in construction, design, and understanding how structures are built. The best things about this course are the strong practical learning through labs, field work, and the chance to learn topics that are directly connected to real-life infrastructure. I also like that the course has a wide career scope in both government and private sectors. I wish there were more software training sessions and more industry visits or live project exposure, which would make students even more industry-ready. Increasing placement opportunities for core jobs would also be a great improvement.

Better for core branches as compared to other colleges of the same level.

Placements: At Haldia Institute of Technology, 70-80% of students get campus placements in almost every department. In 2024, the highest salary was 14 LPA, and the average of 4 LPA was offered to students of civil engineering department. Companies like SA Infrastructure, L&T, Adani, and Sobha are offering good perks.

Infrastructure: College infrastructure is one of the most beautiful infrastructures in the state. The biggest private engineering college in the area. There are 4 boys hostels along with 3 different girls hostels. Campus life at Haldia Institute of Technology is super awesome. Four pillars at the very front of the college. Main building is most beautiful part of the college infrastructure.

Faculty: Average to a good level of faculty members for students. The faculty members here hold good, relevant skills, and knowledge. Some of the faculty members are local. College have separate faculty members for laboratory and classrooms. Generally, they are friendly and will support you in your studies.

Other: Haldia Institute of Technology offers the most number of placements in its core branches, unlike other colleges. Placements here are not limited to only IT and CSE batches.

Haldia, a place of education.

Placements: Placements of the college are too good with all big recruiting companies like Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Haldia Petrochemicals, Exide, Adani Wilmar, etc. The highest package for 2024 is 33 lakhs, and the average is 6.75 lakhs. More than 90% of students are placed in top MNCs and core companies. Internships are also provided by the college.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with all basic amenities like digital classrooms and AC. The college has all labs required for B. Tech. The library is too big with lakhs of books from all departments. There are 3 canteens in the college with good food serving. Sports are the best here because of the biggest campus after IIT Kharagpur.

Faculty: Most of the faculty members are postgraduates from IITs, NITs, and BITS. They provide good educational resources. Exams are easy if you attend all lectures of faculty members. They also provide notes in online format for exams. Teaching quality is too good. Exams are on time here.

Other: Civil Engineering is going to be the top branch in the coming decades because of the need for good architecture. Civil Engineering deals with modern infrastructure problems. Haldia Institute of Technology is known for its core branch. Placements and internship opportunities are excellent here.
