The IIT Guwahati placement report for 2025 has been out on official website. According to the report, IIT Guwahati recorded a placement rate of 62%. The highest package reached INR 1.25 crore per annum during IIT Guwahati placements. A total of 1,606 students registered out of which 1,001 were placed during IIT Guwahati placement season. The total number of male students registered was 1,270 while the number of female students registered was 336. Out of the total 1001 students placed, 791 were male and 210 were female.

IIT Guwahati has a Centre for Career Development (CCD), which oversees all campus placement activities. The department is equipped with all the placement facilities to support students in each stage of the recruitment process. The placement process at IIT Guwahati includes pre-placement talks, Skill assessment, Group Discussions, technical interviews, and face-to-face interviews, among others.

The placement percentage of registered male and female students remained the same in 2025, which stood at 62%. Earlier, the percentage of registered male students placed in 2024 was 70%, whereas for females it was 68%. The overall placement rate for 2025 stood at 68%, which is slightly lower than the previous year (71%).

The top recruiting sectors include IT/Software (45.3% offers), Core sector (17.1%), Finance, Consulting, etc. Earlier, 102 students received packages of INR 50 LPA in 2024. A total of 229 PPOs were offered to the batch 2024. Core and Tech were the top recruiting sectors. Out of 1,584 registered students, 1,124 were placed in 2024.

Satisfied with staff members and working operation.

Placements: 20% of students opt for this course. The highest package is 30 LPA, and the lowest package is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Sun Pharma, Lupin, and Ranbaxy, chemical and materials Science companies like Aditya Birla, Jaypee Group, and TATA Chemical. 95% of students got an internship. Top roles offered are professors, researchers, or work in R&D in various sectors.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the institute is well established. The entire campus is covered with Wi-Fi lanes. The classrooms are also covered with Wi-Fi and a smart display. They are well developed with updated electronic appliances. The food provided on campus is freshly prepared.

Faculty: Teachers are supportive and qualified. Teaching quality is also good. Course curriculum is also relevant and makes the students ready to work in companies and industries. Semester exams are easy to pass and the pass percentage is 40% in each subject.

Other: I have opted for this course because I want to enhance my skills in laboratory techniques, data analysis, and effective communication. Campus also organises fests and extracurricular activities. Campus is crowded enough, and the surrounding is also a learning environment.

IIT University, Guwahati.

Placements: We are IIT students, so definitely each one got a placement. So many M.Tech students have joined the CSE course. Highest package is about 2.4 crore, and lowest package is 35 Lacs. So many top MNC companies came to our college, they are Google, Microsoft, Flipkart, Amazon, etc.

Infrastructure: In IIT, the best infrastructure is placed. We have labs for every department and for every course. We have all AC classrooms and a well-stocked library. We have Wi-Fi available here. We have so many canteens here, and a medical hospital is available. We also have sports for any year students.

Faculty: We have the best faculty here, and they are very friendly with us. They teach classes very nicely, and the explanation is super. We have weekly 3 to 4 events. Seniors conduct the events. We also join these events and participate. Our dean conducts exams very strictly.

Review of IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology.

Placements: Till now, there is no data about placements. 92% of students have received internships. Top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, IBM, TCS, and Deloitte. I personally got an offer off-campus from SpaceX. The most common roles seen are Data Scientist, Analyst, AI Engineer, and Software Developer.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good but limited. The mess is good, but I’m not a big fan. Medical facilities are great, and sports and games are good. Nightlife at IIT Guwahati is great. You need to work hard to keep up, but any serious student can manage. I wish all my future juniors all the best.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful and good. We are industry-ready. The percentage of students placed is not released by the IIT Guwahati authority. The teaching quality is great, and the curriculum is up to date with industry standards. Proctored exams are tough.

Other: I chose this course because I need to graduate. There is a need to improve offline on-campus placement opportunities.

IIT Guwahati - A great college .

Placements: Almost 85-90 percent students from my college got into one or more companies. Many big companies like IBM, Google, Amazon visits for the campus placement as it is an IIT. So we got benefit for being an IITian. The average package bagged by students in M.Teach was around 15LPA.

Infrastructure: The building and infrastructure of our college hostel is very great. Also the mess is great we get variety of food through out the week. The hostel is very NEET and clean also there is separate hostel for girls and boys and each hostel have security guards .

Faculty: The professor in our college were highly professional and knowledgeable. They helps a lot not only in our college exams but during the placement season. They possess high practical experience in the field of computer Science and engineering. I am very satisfied with the faculty here.

Other: As It is an IIT you will surely get benefitted from the name of college. Also there is a lot of on campus placement opportunities .

IIT Guwahati is an awesome college.

Placements: IIT Guwahati campus is very large. Since I am a Ph.D. scholar, the research facilities in this college are very good. Around 80-85% of students get placed in our course. The highest salary package in our college is 57 LPA, the average salary package is 11 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 6 LPA. Companies like Aditya Birla, Tata, and PhonePe recruit students from our course. Every student gets an internship in the 2nd or 3rd year through hard work.

Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued by students. The quality of food in the mess is average. There are three canteens on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket.

Faculty: Professors are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. All of them are PhD holders. The course curriculum is relevant to industry needs. Besides, one has to prepare themselves too. Each semester has 2 exams, mid-term and end-term. One needs to have at least 35% in order to pass the course.

Best college with the best placement.

Placements: IIT Guwahati is well known for the best placement. I love IIT because of there placement percentage up to 100%. I am a passout student. The highest package offered in our course is 67 LPA and the lowest package offered is 8 to 10 LPA. The recruiting companies are Biocon, Cipla, Sun Parma, Dr. Reddy's and many others. The internship opportunities of our course are 92%. The roles, such as research intern and other posts, are offered. I am proud to be an IITian.

Infrastructure: Facilities in IIT are top-notch, where we get all facilities. High-speed WiFi facilities in classrooms and campus are there. Labs with well-equipped systems, and they provide all materials. Library with all books and research papers. Hostel facilities are good. We get good food in mess, all different types of food daily. The taste is also good. The canteen is also good and provides the best food but is much more costly. Sports facilities are provided and we can play all types of games.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful in teaching and qualified with the highest degree and PhD. The teaching quality is good. Course curriculum is relevant to chemistry. Teachers provide a practical experience with the lab and make students ready for industry. The semester exams are hard to pass but if you study hard, then we can score good marks.
