- The JEE Main registration 2026 is now open for IIT Kanpur admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses. The registration deadline for session 1 is Nov 27, 2025, and the exam will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam date for admission to the MSc course is Feb 15, 2026.
- For the M.Des programme, the CEED 2026 entrance exam is scheduled for Jan 18, 2026, with results to be announced on Mar 4, 2026.

IIT Kanpur MBA total tuition fee ranges between INR 2.8 Lacs and INR 13.1 Lacs as per an unofficial source. The fee excludes admission fee, security deposits, semester fee and hostel charges. There is relaxation in fee for reserved category students. Candidates need to pay fee after completion of the selection rounds, to confirm their seat.
Apart from the tuition fee, aspirants need to register with an application fee in the start of the admission process. The application fee is INR 1,600 for General/ OBC (NCL) candidates. The fee is low (INR 800) for SC/ ST/ DAP candidates.
The total fee for the four-year BS programme of IIT Kanpur is INR 8 lakh. This is inclusive of the one-time admission and caution deposits but is not inclusive of the hostel fee. NTA announced JEE Main 2024 dates. NTA coducted the JEE Main 2024 exam in two sessions. IIT Kanpur BSc seat reservation is prescribed by the Board of Governors subject to the policy formulated from time to time by the Government of India. The seats are reserved for the SC, ST, OBC (Not belonging to Creamy Layer) and PwD (Person with Disability) category candidates.

IIT Kanpur accepts JEE Advanced and JEE Main scores for admission to BTech. Admission to all the courses is based on scores obtained in the entrance examinations such as GATE, JEE3 JAM, CEED and CAT. Along with UG and PG courses, IIT Kanpur also offers PhD in various specialisations. Selection for the same is done based on GATE scores followed by a Written Test/ Personal Interview conducted by the institute.
CAT exam usually takes place in the month of November. The registration has starts from August and the last date of application is auntil September.
