Students who want admission to the MTech course and its branches have to first register for the GATE examination and attain valid scores. The eligibility criteria to appear for the GATE exam is securing at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) in a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science or a Master's Degree in Science/ MCA or Pharmacy.
While a GATE score is required for admission to the MTech degree, students who have graduated from CFTIs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above are exempt from taking the GATE exam, but they need to take the institute-level entrance exam and need to sit for the interview process.

Admission to the MBA course is through the CAT exam for Indian students and through the GRE/GMAT for foreign applicants.
Students should meet the eligibility rules (Bachelor's degree of 3/4 years with at least 60% aggregate marks for General/EWS/OBC categories, and 55% for SC/ST/PwD students) before applying for admission.
The IIT Jodhpur MBA Admission process involved two shortlisting processes:
Initial Shortlisting: Students are shortlisted based on their CAT percentile + Their Work Experience + Gender Diversity. The CAT cutoff considered could be overall, sectional, or both.
Final Shortlisting: Shortlisted students would then be called for a personal interview (PI) round.
Students who clear both rounds would be eligible for a final admission offer.
