Miranda house - A fun college that provides you a great package.

Placements: The companies were great with good packages, and there were extra benefits too. The company gave a good exposure. Placement cell was very efficient. They bring good companies and experienced recruiters who provided high packages. The recruitment process was really simple.

Infrastructure: Labs were really great, fully equipped, and you could have a hands-on experience in the labs. The canteen had good quality food at a very minimum price. There were different sports teams. You could issue sports equipment easily and quickly. The staff there was good as well.

Faculty: Professors were really helpful, they not only reply to you with your career choices but also help you with any issues regarding yourself. They guide you in different government exams also. They were not just good professors, they became your mentor, your guide.

Other: The fest was great, they called well known artist. The ground was really good so it became fun automatically.

B.Sc. in Life Science at Miranda House: An amazing journey.

Placements: My course is mainly research oriented but still few students opt for placements at Unacademy Platform, etc. They work as tutors and a few are also as consultants for course detailings. Companies do not offer more amount after graduation, but paid internships are available during summer break. The course is ideal for internships and that too is paid in various sectors as it offers three subjects Chemistry, Zoology, and Botany. But after graduation, we cannot expect a big package immediately but can get one after work experience.

Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped and the student gets hands-on experience of all experiments in the curriculum. At Delhi University, there is no head department of the course but they are managed by professors from all the three core departments of Zoology Botany, and Chemistry. Smart classrooms are available and Wi-Fi is also available. There is one main library of the college along with each department library. The canteen has student-friendly rates without compromising the quality of food. One can always participate in extracurricular activities.

Faculty: Professors are highly qualified. Almost all are PhD holders and offer quality education. They are really supportive and even offer internships under them, which one can continue even while enrolling in postgraduate courses. The college offers the DSKC summer internships. The course curriculum is clearly and smartly planned with the planned semester-wise syllabus. The semester duration and teaching plan are maintained accordingly. Semester exams can be placed via college classes and the study materials suggested. The pass percentage is almost around 97%. A student can attain the required knowledge and confidence by regularly attending classes.

Other: I chose this course because this course is best suited for students who do not really want to be bound to one specific subject. This course also benefits students who target the NET-JRF exam, as the exam covers the syllabus for various subjects. The college offers a great campus life. Department fests are organised by each department in the college. The main college fest called TEMPEST is organised, which is a two-day event that is always highly anticipated. The campus is indeed a view to catch once in a lifetime. One can always apply for scholarship programs, a one-year foreign student exchange program, etc.

Miranda House: good academics and extracurricular activities.

Placements: The Science courses generally are not awarded that well in terms of placements since majority of the students opt in for a Masters. But the famous companies visiting the campus for sciences are Dabur, Deloitte, Byju's, and Unacademy. Generally, the internships comprise technical roles and lab visits.

Infrastructure: The labs are well-equipped with the latest laboratory materials and machinery with a proper blend of technology. Zoology labs are equipped with apt specimens. The library is personally my favourite place, with an ocean of books suiting all genres and daily newspapers. The canteen is well maintained, and delicious food is served at a reasonable price.

Faculty: The faculty is well versed with their subjects and possesses high knowledge but often fails to deliver the knowledge. The new curriculum, according to NEP, is quite hectic with additional subjects like EVs and moral science, etc. The English department is hands down the best in the country. We do not have midterms but only endterms in December and January generally.

Other: The course life sciences is a blend of Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry, which offers a deep drive into the domain of sciences and opens future opportunities in research. I personally feel the lab work is quite hectic and could be digitalised rather than making files and just wasting papers. The annual festival of Miranda is called TEMPEST, which is wild in energy and aura. A must-attend for lifetime enriching experience. Miranda is known for its extracurricular activities, and it holds true to its roots with society like Tarang, Mridang, etc. for dance and singing. There are scholarship available for students of various categories like ews, Kashmir migrants, etc.

Miranda House Life Sciences Review.

Placements: Life Sciences student usually go for higher studies in any field or go for government service jobs. So placements from Life Sciences are low. For any other stream such as Economics or Physics and Chemiyou may get placements of about 2 LPA-5lpa. If you are confused about what to do for graduation or want to reappear for NEET it is a good course. In Miranda you'll get a lot of files and assignments so manage your time if you are preparing for NEET as well.

Infrastructure: Majority rooms are non AC but spacious. Labs are good. The college looks good during winters and when it rains. Library is big and you can find almost all books for your course and recreational magazines etc. Too. Professors are highly skilled and nice temperament. Fests, parties, workshops are really common. Every day there is some workshop taking place so you are never bored. Seniors are super nice and welcoming. Wi-Fi is everywhere in college premises except the canteen.

Faculty: Teachers are super nice and helpful as well as knowledgeable. Many of them are Ph.D. holders. They encourage asking questions. Exams are pretty alright in difficult. Learning towards easy. Course curriculum is good and satisfactory for Life Sciences. It allows you to choose which niche to follow for later on in Masters or completely change career path. Because it has all three subjects Chem, Zoo and Bot it is very vast. Due to the new nep guidelines. It is even possible for sciences students to get an honours degree if they continue a fourth year of their course in any specific course.

Miranda House - Review from a science student.

Placements: In my course, people usually opt for masters degree. Only 30% of them go for direct job placements in EdTech or mostly corporate jobs. The rest go for exam preparations like SSC, CAT, etc. Top roles are HR, intern at a company, teacher, etc. Top recruits are Deloitte, PwC, Google, etc.

Infrastructure: We have a library. In our hostel, we have a study room. Wi-Fi is available but doesn't work well. Labs are well-equipped and teachers really do pay attention. Mess food is okayish not too good not too bad. Canteen has everything except pizza and momo. Medical facilities in the hostel are provided and games like badminton and swimming are there.

Faculty: Teachers are well-reputed and educated. They have hands-on experience on well known labs across the globe. They help us during exams and are available throughout. Semester exams are easy to go. We can study a day before and score good, not an issue in that case.

Other: Events are okayish and more fun in co-ed but never mind. Internships are available for all. Scholarships are plenty and do not get me started on societies. Our college is amazing.

Register and Apply
Interested candidates have to register online with required information. Non-refundable online registration fee is a mandate without which candidate’s application would not be considered for further processing. Final Selection
Admission is based on the marks obtained in qualifying exam. Selected list of admitted candidates would be displayed on the DU admission portal. Admission is confirmed only if online admission fee is paid with in the stipulated time. One candidate can take admission only in one course in one college at any given time.
