SOFT CET 2026 exam dates - MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology, Pune, will release the important dates for the SOFT CET 2026 exam on its admission portal.
The online application form for SOFT CET 2026 is open now for UG and PG. The SOFT CET 2026 exam for the B.Des program will be conducted on January 09, 2026 and January 10, 2026. The exam will include three tests: 1) General Ability Test, 2) Studio Test, and 3) Personal Interview + Portfolio Statement of Purpose. All three tests will be conducted in online mode; also, the three tests will be conducted on the same day.
The candidate must appear in all the components of the exam. The result-cum-merit list of SOFT CET 2026 was released in June 2026.

SOFT CET 2026 Application Form: The registration window for the design aptitude test is open now. To fill out the application form for SOFT CET 2026, candidates are required to go to the official website.
SOFT CET 2026 Admit Card/ Hall Ticket: Once the candidate submits their form successfully, they can visit their CET's account to select a suitable time slot to appear for the examination. The authorities do not issue any such document. However, they do notify the candidate about the date, time, and venue with dos and don'ts for the examination on the email ID provided at the time of registration.
SOFT CET Exam Pattern: The design aptitude test is conducted in online mode for all the programs (UG and PG). Candidates qualifying the entrance exam are then required to appear for the Studio Test followed by a Personal Interview, showcasing the portfolio, and finally give a Statement of Purpose. SOFT CET 2026 Results: The results are released in the form of a merit list. The same is declared on the MKSSS's SOFT official website (www.soft.ac.in). Follow easy steps below to start with SOFT CET preparations for admissions:
- Go through SOFT CET syllabus 2026 completely.
- Understand SOFT CET exam pattern and marking scheme and prepare accordingly.
- Get all study material for SOFT CET such as prep books and previous year's question papers.
- Create a monthly plan on how much syllabus to cover daily.
- Solve question papers, sample papers and mock tests.

Eligibility criteria for admitting students in First/Second/Third year in different Specializations of B. Design Program.
For B.Des Programme
- XIIth Pass in any Stream – Arts/Commerce/Science/Home-Science/Minimum Competency Vocational Course (MCVC)including National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
- Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE)/ other State Govt. Technical Education full-time diploma of minimum three years after Std Xth (any stream)
- For NRI & Foreign students with equivalence from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi
Criteria for selecting students for the 1st year (entry-level) college shall conduct aptitude tests based on general knowledge, language and creative testing through studio test. Based on test performance, students may be considered for provisional admission.
The provisional admitted students shall pass the 12th standard exam or equivalent as prescribed by the university with a minimum of 45%.

The SOFT CET exam will be conducted in THREE parts:
- General Ability Test
- Studio Test
- Personal Interview + Portfolio +Statement of Purpose
As you can see, the exam also includes a STUDIO Test.
All the three parts or sub-exams will be conducted on the same day. Note that the candidate has to appear in all the sub-exams.- If the candidate doesn't appear in of the sub-exams, he or she will not be included in the merit list.
SOFT CET is a popular design entrance exam. So, the competition is going to be there, though not at the level of a NIFT or NID DAT.
That being said, you will ideally need around 4-5 months to complete the SOFT CET syllabus. Start you preparation, if you haven'r already.
As part of the preparation, make it a point to solve sample and previous years' question papers.
MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology, Pune, will conduct the SOFT CET 2026 exam starting sometime in the 4th week of May 2026. The admit card will be released a few days before the exam. The candidate has to download the admit card using theiir candidate credentials.
On the day of the exam, bring your admit card and a valid photo ID proof.
Sample papers are very useful tools for exam preparation. So, if you are preparing for SOFT CET, you may start solving sample papers after, say, completing a chapter.
The more sample papers you solve, the better you get a problem-solving and time management. Your understanding of key concepts will also improve as you go on solving problems.

MKSSS's School of Fashion Technology, Pune, will start the academic session around the last week of June 2026. The academic session will commence once counseling and seat allotment process is over.
The SOFT CET 2026 result will be announced sometime around the last week of May 2026. The result will be released in the form of a merit list.
