Overview

CEED Exam Centre 2026 - The national-level exam was conducted in 27 cities across India. IIT Bombay released the list of exam cities for CEED 2026 on website.

Candidate could select CEED 2026 exam centres when filling CEED application form. A maximum of THREE exam centres in the order of priority can be selected. Name of CEED 2026 exam centre, including the name and address, reporting time, and other key details, is mentioned in the CEED 2026 admit card. 

CEED 2026 exam was conducted on January 18, 2026 (9 am - 12 noon). Candidates were advised to reach the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned on CEED admit card.

Test cities for CEED 2026 were released by IIT Bombay. The CEED exam is to be conducted in 27 test cities mentioned below.

Q:   Can a CEED 2026 exam city be dropped from the final list?
A: 

IIT Bombay will release the exam cities for CEED 2026. The list can be found in the CEED 2026 Information Brochure. In the previous edition, the design entrance exam was held in 27 cities.

Note that exam officials have the authority to drop a city in some cases.

Check out this information given in the CEED information brochure:

“If a sufficient number of candidates are unavailable in a city, that city may be dropped from the final list, and candidates will be allotted to a city of their second or third choice.”

Q:   Can I change the CEED 2026 exam centre allocated to me?
A: 

Note that once an exam centre has been allocated, there is no scope to change it. In fact, CEED officials will not entertain any requests for a change in the exam centre. 

The details of the exam centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the CEED 2026 admit card. The allotment of CEED 2026 exam centre will done on the basis of the exam city seelcted by the candidate. Exam officials will also consider other factors like the address of the candidate and seat intake available in various exam centres in that particular city.

Q:   At what time do I need to report for CEED 2026?
A: 

CEED exam was conducted on January 18, 2026. On the day of exam, candidate had to report at the exam centre at 7 am. The reporting time will also be mentioned on the admit card. Exam was from 9 AM to 12 PM at the centres.

When reporting for exam, candidate must bring with them a valid photo ID proof and the admit card.

Instructions for CEED Centre 2026

Read the following instructions before selecting a centre for CEED exam.

  • Candidates should select three cities in order of preference while filling CEED application form.
  • City selected at the time of filling the application will not be changed. No request for a city change will be entertained.
  • If the number of candidates is less for a listed city, then such a city may be removed from final list, and those candidates will be allotted a centre in the city of either their second or third preference. 
  • UCI Committee reserves the right to add a new city/town or remove an existing one and allot a city/town that may not be among preferences stated by a candidate.
  • Candidates must make their own arrangements for appearing at allotted centre.

Q:   How many exam centres can I select when applying for CEED 2027?
A: 

When filling CEED form, the candidate should compulsorily choose THREE cities in the order of preference. There is no option to select an exam centre when filling out the form. A candidate can only select an exam city. 

Q:   Will IIT Bombay release the detailed list of exam centres for CEED 2026?
A: 

IIT Bombay will not release the detailed list of CEED 2026 exam centres. It has, however, released the list of exam cities where the CEED 2026 exam will be conducted.

The name of the exam centre allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the CEED 2026 admit card.

The allotment of exam centres will be done based on the exam city selected by the candidate, address of the candidate, exam centres available in the selected cities and also seat intake.

Note that each of the exam cities may have one or more exam centres. 

Q:   What is the reporting time at CEED Centre?
A: 

The reporting time at the CEED Centre for the CEED Entrance Test was 7 AM. The exam timing was 9 AM to 12 PM.

Q:   Do mock tests and CEED sample papers have the sample role?
A: 

No, mock tests are not the same as CEED question or sample papers. 

It is because the main purpose of the mock tests is to help the candidate get acquainted with the exam pattern and system, especially if the exam is conducted in an online mode. The mocks will allow the candidate get accustomed with the exam mode, navigation, scoring, and answering patterns. To some extent it also may help the candidate improve problem-solving and time-managment skills, which are typically the exclusive domain of CEED sample papers.

Additionally, mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few days of the exam. On the other hand, sample papers are typically solved even in the early stages of exam preparation.

Q:   Does IIT Bombay recommend any books for CEED exam preparation?
A: 

IIT Bombay is exam conducting body for CEED 2026. The institute, however, doesn’t prescribed any study material for the exam.

CEED Exam Day Guidelines 2026

Candidates appearing in CEED 2026 are advised to go through the exam day instructions mentioned on the admit card carefully. Candidates are advised on the items and documents that they can carry inside the examination hall below. 

What to carry on CEED exam day?

Since part B of CEED Exam is a subjective test, candidates have to carry stationery like pencils, sketch pens, poster colours and other drawing materials to the exam centre. Apart from this, candidates need to ensure that they carry the documents mentioned below positively to their CEED test centre.

  • CEED Admit Card: Candidates need to carry a coloured printout of CEED admit card to the exam centre. The admit card is needed to record the biometric information of candidates at the centre.
  • ID Proof: Candidates need to carry a valid and original photo ID proof to their CEED exam centre. Documents that can be presented as an ID proof include college issued identity card, passport, driving license, PAN card, Voter ID or Aadhaar card.       
  • Stationary: Candidates must carry their own stationary items such as pens, pencils, sketch pens and colours

What not to carry on CEED exam day?

Candidates are not allowed to carry any electronic gadget such as mobile phone, calculator, smart/digital watch inside the exam hall. Use of any electronic gadget during the exam could disqualify a candidate, as per the official website. Candidates are also not allowed to carry any drawing sheet.

Q:   What are the acceptable identity proofs for CEED 2026 exam?
A: 

On the day of the CEED exam, the candidate must bring with them the admit card and a valid photo ID proof. Without admit card, canddiates will not be allowed to sit in the exam.

The following documents will be considered as a valid ID.

  • College issued identity card

  • Passport

  • Driving license

  • PAN card, Voter ID

  • Aadhar card or printed e-Aadhar card

Q:   What kind of stationery items I should carry to CEED 2026 exam centre?
A: 

The candidate will not be provided with any stationery at the exam venue. So, it is incumbent the candidates themselves bring these essential stationery items with them.

Here are the basic minimum stationery items needed to take the CEED 2026 exam.

  • Pens

  • Pencils

  • Sketch pens 

  • Colours for the examination

However, note that sheets are not allowed inside the exam hall.

Q:   Am I allowed to carry electronic gadgets inside the CEED 2026 exam hall?
A: 

No, candidates cannot take any electronic gadgets inside the CEED exam hall. Here is a list of items that the candidate must not bring to the exam hall.

  • Mobile phones

  • Smart or digital watches, etc.

Any candidate found in possession of these items will be disqualified.

Q:   What is the seat intake for the M.Des programme offered by CEED accepting colleges?
A: 

There are eight participating institutes of CEED 2026 that offer the M.Des program. Admission to theprogram will be on the basis of CEED 2026 merit rank.

Candidates who have been assigned a merit rank in CEED 2026 need to apply directly to the participating institute. Counseling registration will commence soon after CEED 2026 results are declared.

Q:   How should I prepare for CEED?

  • Make a  timetable for CEED preparation
  • Practice as many CEED previous year question papers and sample papers as possible
  • Take notes when you are studying.
  • Find your weak areas for the exam and work to improve those areas/subjects

Q:   What happens after I submit the CEED application?
A: 

Once the application is submitted and downloaded, CEED Admit card will be issued and candidates will be asked to check and report any discrepancies in their admit card within the deadline. After this, CEED Entrance examination will take place.

 

Q:   What if I forget my CEED application login details?
A: 

Candidates can get their login credentials through Forgot Password option on CEED portal using their registered email ID.

  • Forgot Password option is available onCEED portal. While selecting this option, candidates will need to enter their registered email ID.
  • A password reset link or instructions will be sent to email.
  • By following steps mentioned in email, candidates can reset their password.
Q:   What happens if I apply for CEED but do not meet the eligibility criteria?
A: 

Eligibility criteria for appearing in CEED 2026 exam are prescribed by IIT Bombay. Criteria are given in the information brochure. Candidate needs to carefully go through criteria and only apply for admission if they meet the requirements.

If candidate fails to meet eligibility criteria, he or she could be disqualified at any stage of the admission process. Also, the participating colleges will have a document verification session, where all documents will be cross-checked.

Q:   What kind of discrepancies may be found in the CEED 2026 admit card?
A: 

Some of the typical and also atypical discrepancies you can find the CEED 2026 admit card include

  • The name of the candidate may be incorrectly spelled

  • Some information may be missing, for instance, a few digits of your roll number, or name of the exam centre.

  • Information may be blurred, for instance the photograph or signature

  • A wrong exam centre may be allocated.

In any of the above or similar cases, the candidate needs to contact exam officials and get the issues resolved.

Q:   What types of questions will be asked in CEED 2026 exam?
A: 

CEED exam has two parts Part A and Part B. Part A will include Numerical Answers Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). These questions will be objective type. 

Part B of the question paper will include subjective questions. These questions will test the design, drawing and writing skills.

IIT Bombay has not recommended a dress code for taking CEED Exam. But candidates should dress modestly for the exam. They should avoid heavy jewellery, rugged jeans, chunky shoes, etc.

Yes, candidates must bring a printout of CEED admit card for exam. Soft copies of the admit card will not be accepted. Also, along with the admit card, the candidate should also bring a photo ID proof.
