Good placement rate this year
Placements: So, first of all, thank you, Shiksha, for giving me this opportunity. I am currently in my 2nd year of Biotech. Last year, the placement rate was very low. Only 4 students got placed. But this time, it has increased by more than 400%. Around 24 students got offers, and 21 got placed. This is a huge step towards making Biotech a good branch placement-wise in NITRR.
Infrastructure: Our college has about 100 acres of land. It includes hostels, staff residences, academic buildings, grounds, etc. The infrastructure is good, not as good as top-tier NITs, but definitely decent compared to other colleges. We have a hostel shortage, which is a problem, but you can get a hostel by maintaining a good SGPI in the odd semester.
Faculty: I think faculty members are quite good. A few of them are from IITs and NITs, and some are from top universities in India like BHU, DU, and JNU. Our department has labs and is also currently working on research. Semester exams are moderate, which means you can easily pass by studying 2–3 days before the exam.
Other: If you are getting into this college, you should join, as you will learn a lot from professors and seniors. There are fests as well, which are among Central India's biggest fests.

Decent for placements and poor for campus life. Good for opportunities.
Placements: For core ECE there are only 4-5 companies including PSUs like BEL. Most students either go for software roles or appear for the GATE examination to try for further studies or a government job. Software and Data Analyst roles are available on campus. 70-80 percent of students are placed.
Infrastructure: Hostels are very limited. Only the students with a good percentile in JEE get a hostel in the first year. Second year onwards the hostels are even more limited and are allotted based on merit. Wi-Fi is available everywhere. All departments are in the same main building. The infrastructure of the ECE department classrooms and labs is good. Classrooms are okayish. Hostels are rarely allotted.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified. All are PhD holders from IITs, NITs, and foreign institutes. An ECE Bachelor's course doesn't make one industry-ready. One has to do courses side by side to become industry-ready. Semester exams depend on the professor. Marking is relatively simple.
Other: Fests are decent. The campus is very small and very bad.

Academically excellent with supportive faculty, but hostel accommodation facilities are limited.
Placements: Honestly, I don’t know the exact data, but this year our dean was in charge, and we faced some consequences. Many known recruiters did not take our branch and instead selected mechanical students. The highest package offered in our course is around 16 LPA, and the average is around 9 LPA. Companies like Reliance, JSW, Jindal, Tata, etc., visit for recruitment, though I may be missing some others. Around 100% of students are placed, but I am not sure about the companies. I do not have information about internships.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is available. The library is very small, like a big room, instead of a proper building. The infrastructure is still under development. There is a shortage of hostels, so about 90% of students live outside the campus in PGs or rented apartments. Life is mostly like that of a day scholar, and vehicles are allowed. Hostels are good, but only a few merit-based students get hostel accommodation. Food, canteen, and medical facilities are good, but they are a bit far from the academic building (walking distance). Sports facilities are improving.
Faculty: In the first year, we were taught by contract professors. The teaching quality is average. The curriculum is relevant. Most students score between 8.0 and 8.5 CGPA, and a few get backlogs in subjects like Maths, Engineering Mechanics, and Engineering Graphics. Professors are very strict.
Other: I was advised to take this branch because last year the placement rate was almost 100%. I was getting mechanical, but I rejected it as it was difficult for me. Our branch has its own committee, which other branches do not have. Events and fests are good in my branch as well as in common events.

Actually pretty satisfied with faculty and placements, though the infrastructure is not as good.
Placements: Approximately 90% of students in my class get placed. The highest package is 33 LPA, and the lowest package is 5.5 LPA. Companies such as Google, Visa, Jindal, Microsoft, CNH, and JSW recruit from the campus. Around 50% to 60% of the roles offered are in SDE, Data Analyst, Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET), and similar positions. Both core and non-core roles are available. Many opportunities are offered by the college, making placements quite good.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi and library are available. Overall, facilities are average. A sports complex, medical facilities, and a canteen are available on campus. The food quality is average. Additional food options are near the campus. The campus is not very large and mainly consists of a single building that accommodates all branches.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, knowledgeable, and well-qualified. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are of above-average difficulty, although the level of difficulty depends on the subject and faculty. Previous-year questions sometimes get repeated, but not always.
Other: I study Electrical Engineering, which I got by chance rather than by specific choice. The best aspect of the course is the practical experience it provides. Areas for improvement include infrastructure and air-conditioned classrooms. Events and fests take place quite often, scholarships are available, and the surroundings are pleasant.

Absolutely worthy regarding my department, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.
Placements: Around 85% of students are placed. The highest package is 18 LPA in the core sector, while the lowest is 7 LPA. The average package is around 8–10 LPA. Companies like JSW, TATA, and Vedanta visit the campus. Top roles are offered in both core and non-core sectors depending on the chosen specialization. The course provides good preparation for both areas and offers good opportunities in core fields as well.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. The infrastructure is good for our department with sufficient labs, classrooms, and library facilities. Hostel facilities are also good, including food quality, rooms, washrooms, and overall management by staff.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and highly qualified with good knowledge. The teaching quality is also good in our department. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are difficult in our department.
Other: I chose this course because of the good placement opportunities and my interest in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

Absolutely satisfied with the college because of placements.
Placements: Placement is one of the best things about National Institute of Technology Raipur. Despite being considered a middle to lower NIT, students still choose it mainly because of its placement rates. It is not just for CS and IT, but also because core placements are good, especially in Mechanical, Chemical, and Metallurgy. For Mechanical, the average remains close to 8–9 LPA over the last 2–3 years, and the highest goes around 18–20 LPA. The placement rate is among the finest compared to other branches, reaching around 93–94 percent.
Infrastructure: It is not a very large college in terms of infrastructure. Expectations should be kept low as it mainly lacks in infrastructure. There is not even basic hostel facility available for all students. Only a few students get hostels in the first year. Hostel allocation is based on JEE rank and reservation norms, and later depends on CPI/SPI.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good, but from an exam point of view, students mostly prepare on their own using YouTube, Chat-GPT, etc. Studying 4–5 days before exams is usually enough for a decent CPI/SPI. The curriculum is similar to other NITs.
Other: If you want good placements and do not have any other options, you can choose NIT Raipur. Otherwise, do not come with very high expectations.
