The college is beautiful, and it works hard.

Placements: Placements are great, and all the top-notch companies participate in the placements, and placement session continues until all the student get placed. The college has a policy that one student gets only one job offer, but you can search for job opportunities outside. The average salary package offered was about 24 LPA for M.Tech CSE department students.

Infrastructure: The hostel in which I got a room is newly built, so it feels better than other hostels which are old. The mess is okay, and they will offer special food on festivals and once a week. The taste of the food might not be the best, but it is nutritious. There are ports facilities for almost all sports.

Faculty: Faculty members are okay, well qualified, but they often make easy concept tough. However, you can ask as many doubts you have. They are supportive, and they try their best to make you understand the concepts. They always focus on concepts and research.

Other: The college has beautiful lawns, great facilities and great environment.

Review of IIT Roorkee - Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Placements: All students got placed. The average salary package offered is 24 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Cohesity, etc., visited our campus for placements. The lowest salary package offered ranges between 15-16 LPA. The highest salary package offered ranges between 37-40 LPA. The college also provides good internship opportunities for students.

Infrastructure: Hostels are average, and they provide two sharing or single rooms for students. Hostel rooms are connected to very high internet speed and even 1 Gbps sometimes. Wi-Fi facility is slow in college, and it barely crosses 20 Mbps. Classrooms are currently getting installed with the centralised air-conditioned facility.

Faculty: Professors in our college are good and friendly. If someone shows interest in some subject, then the professors would help, or they would redirect you to a different professor having expertise in a particular field. There is a lot of flexibility in how you want to take forward your studies. You can prepare to be industry-ready, or you can focus on research.

The college has really good infrastructure with the freedom to follow anything.

Placements: The average salary package offered for the class of 2018 was 24 LPA. We have at par placements with other top IITs. Since I am from the computer science department, I can only comment on our branch placements. All the top companies like DE Shaw, Uber, Microsoft, Flipkart, Samsung Research, and IBM Research participate in for placements and internships.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided here are the best, and there is everything, starting from labs, lecture complex to the sports arena. Mahatma Gandhi library meets the needs of all students, but unlike other institutes, the library closes at 12 am, and only study room is open for the night. There is a hospital, and the food served in the mess is average. The campus is enabled with high-speed internet.

Faculty: Faculty members here are helpful in general, and all are well qualified and have PhDs. I find the curriculum to be very relevant to the industry. It's more about how well someone is able to apply their knowledge. The number of electives is low in number.

Other: I have chosen computer science because of my interest in this field. We have almost 75% of attendance for exam eligibility. The campus is beautiful, with a lot of freedom.

We cant describe the beauty of IIT Roorkee in words. You can only feel it.

Placements: Placements are good in IIT Roorkee. Most of my seniors got their job from here. Placement percentage is around 90%+. The highest around 1cror. Avg 20lac. Minimum 6lac INR/per year. Yes all prestigious companies visit here every year. Mostly they choose software engineers from CSE. Internship percentage will be around 95. the highest internship around 50k. Avg 25k. Min 20k INR. Yes there is a placement cell. It is very useful.

Infrastructure: A magnificent internet facilities (Wi-Fi+LAN). Classrooms are neat and clean. Asia's number 1 library. Mahatma gandi centre library. Institute has a hospital also. Sports facilities are very good. You have so many options in sports here. World class labs and classrooms. Canteen is available in every hostel. Average food quality. Most of the rooms are single and with best facilities. No issue till now but regarding infrastructure.

Faculty: Yes the teachers are very helpful, qualified, kind and helpful. Teaching quality is very high. Mostly teachers prefer online and with slides. Students and teacher ratio is around 35:1. there are so many ways to get industry exposure. But I was not interested.

Other: Technical fest is cognizance. All prestigious companies sponsor here. Cognizance 2018 sponsored by paytm itself. Thomso is cultural fest. Sangram for sports.

Q: What is the admission process to get into BSc at IIT Roorkee?

In order to get into BSc at IIT Roorkee candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum of 75%. Further, the candidate is required to qualify JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. IIT Roorkee admits students based on merit in JEE Main+JEE Advanced. Once the JEE Advanced results are out, students must register at the JoSAA counselling portal. Further counselling and seat allocation is done through this particular portal.

Upon allocation of seat, candidates must pay partial fees on the JoSAA portal itself. After that, students will be required to report to the allocated institute in the stipulated time frame. Students will be successfully admitted upon payment of the remaining fees.
