To get admission to B.E./ BTech course at Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology,  candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements of the programme. Admission to BTech course at RIT Chennai is based on the merit of last qualifying exam of Class 12. Further, RIT Chennai accepts the TNEA scores for admission to its BE and BTech programmes. The admissions are done through the TNEA counselling.

To be eligible for a four-year BTech course at Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology, candidates need to fulfil the basic eligibility requirements of the programme. RIT Chennai offers BTech course across three specialisations, namely Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science and Computer Science and Business Systems. Further, the institute also offers a four-year B.E. programme in followin seven specialisations:

To apply for TNEA 2026, candidates have to meet the below requirements: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 exam with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates). They should have passed the 10+2 exam from Tamil Nadu board or any equivalent board. They must have cleared any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) with one of the Engineering related subjects namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry. Apart from that, they following requirements must be also met: Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed their Class VIII to Class XII standard in Tamil Nadu. Children of Central Government Employees, irrespective of their nativity, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years at the time of TNEA application form submission. Sons/daughters of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers. Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised institutions who at the time of TNEA 2026 application form submission had been working in their organisations for the past five years are also eligible to apply, irrespective of their domicile. Other state candidates who have studied from Class VIII to Class XII in Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA 2026. Tamil Nadu native candidates who have passed any of the VIII, IX, X, XI and XII standards or their equivalent examinations from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu can also apply for TNEA.

Candidates can apply for admission under Management Quota at Rajalakshmi Institute of Technology. The institute considers JEE scores for admission in this case. Aspirants must also meet the eligibility requirements to get a seat in the BE/ BTech programmes via Management Quota. Candidates have to apply directly on the institute's website or connect with the admission office for the form. 

RIT Chennai offers direct admission to the second year of BTech/ B.E. programmes through Lateral Entry. In this course, students can skip the first year and take admission directly in the second year of the programme. For admission to Lateral Entry programmes, candidates must have a valid Diploma in the relevant branch.
