Xavier's Entrance Test (XET) 2026: The Xavier Institute of Communication (XIC), Mumbai, conducts XET or XIC OET for admissions to journalism and mass media courses. The XIC OET 2026 exam is expected to be conducted from the first week of April 2026. The institute conducts the exam on multiple dates in online mode. This means that candidates have the liberty to take XET from any place, provided they have an internet connection and a desktop or laptop. Registered candidates will get the login details and password to appear for the exam, 10 minutes before the exam time.

Candidates planning to take XET 2026 must fill out the XIC OET 2026 application form online on the official website xaviercomm.org. XIC will tentatively begin the XET registrations 2026 in the first week of March 2026. The registration fee is INR 2,500. Candidates who will successfully register for the exam will be sent XIC OET 2026 admit cards via email. Those who will clear the online exam as per the XIC OET results will have to go through a Zoom interview, to be scheduled tentatively in the third week of April 2026. This online interview will be followed by a personal interview.

What is XIC Entrance Test (XET)?

The Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) conducts the "XIC Entrance Test" (XET) to offer admissions to eligible candidates in mass communication courses available at the institute. Candidates can apply for admission to various postgraduate diplomas and certificate courses.

A candidate is eligible to register for the XET if he/she meets the requirements mentioned below:

  • Candidate must be 35 years or below in age.
  • Candidate must have completed 3 years of Graduation (12+3 years) in a university-approved stream in India: (Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers, BMM, BMS, BE, Catering, etc.)
    OR
  • Candidate must be appearing for the last semester or Third-year Graduation in the present academic year.

Note: In the last case, is a candidate is selected for the XIC Course of their choice, and complete it in keeping with the Academic, Attendance, and other standards laid down by XIC, the Post Graduate Diploma will be awarded only on completion of their Graduation and on submission of the relevant attested Final mark-sheet of their graduation.

Q:   How will I get to know about my XIC Entrance Test (XET) exam date?
A: 

Candidates will have to select their preferred XET date (out of the dates announced on the website) at the time of registration. The test link, password and login details will be sent to candidates just before their allocated time slot. More exam day instructions will be communicated to the applicants via this email by the exam body.

Q:   Will there be a provision to make corrections in XIC Entrance Test (XET) application form?

Xavier's Entrance Test application process and admission process are explained in the steps mentioned below.

Step 1: Registration

Candidates have to register themselves by clicking on the 'register' on the official website of the university to fill in the application form. Candidates have to ensure that they kept a scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph of themselves ready for uploading before filling in the online registration form. Candidates have to enter the following details while filling out the application form: 

  • Name
  • Mobile Number
  • Email ID
  • Course Interested In
  • Captcha Number 

After submitting the details, candidates might have received a login ID and password which could use to log in, to avail of the XIC Entrance Test (XET) application forms.

Step 2: Fill XIC Entrance Test (XET) Application Form

Candidates have to fill out the online application forms. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling out and submitting the application forms. Candidates will have to pay their XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 application fee online by using their Bank Debit/Credit Card/ Net banking/ UPI. The Registration fee for the XET is INR 2,500/- only (inclusive of GST).

Note: As part of the Registration Process, candidates will have to provide their Statement of Purpose (SOP). If they qualify for the Personal Interview stage, it could be brought up for discussion. Hence, candidates are advised to give sufficient thought while putting their SOP together.

Step 3: Select the date and centre

After completing the payment procedure candidates will have to select their XET date and personal interview center.

Note: FAILURE to upload SCANNED PHOTOGRAPH or provide proper details, could not allow the candidate to proceed further.

Step 4: XIC Entrance Test (XET) Admit Card

The XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 admit card will be sent to candidates using the E-mail ID mentioned in their registration form. Candidate were advised to check their Junk/ Spam Email Folders in case they do not receive the admit card after the registration procedure. Candidates had to preserve their admit card carefully as only this document was accepted in all further transactions between a candidate and XIC.

Step 5: Appear for XIC Entrance Test (XET)

Candidates have to appear for the Xavier Institute of Communications Online Entrance Test at their preferred date. The XIC Entrance Test (XET) duration is 60 minutes and includes both objective and subjective questions. Candidates will get the login details and password, 10 minuted before the examination.

The XIC Entrance Test (XET) 2026 pattern will be such that aspirants will have to attempt multiple choice questions in 30 minutes and subjective questions in 30 minutes duration.
