AICTE GATE 2025 Scholarship Date: The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) will soon open the GATE 2025 scholarship portal on its official website. The scholarship registration is valid for GATE-qualified candidates. The GATE 2025 scholarship registration link is likely to open in the first week of September 2025. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who qualify for GATE or GPAT and are pursuing full-time postgraduate programs such as M.E., M.Tech, M.Arch, or M.Pharm in AICTE-approved institutions. GATE 2025 Scholarship Link Dates

AICTE GATE 2025 Scholarship: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is geared to launch its much-awaited GATE and GPAT Post Graduate (PG) Scholarship portal during the first week of September 2025, kickstarting the application process for eligible candidates of the academic year 2025–26. The portal link will be opened to generate students' unique ID to avail the scholarship.

AICTE GATE 2025 Scholarship Dates

Last year, the authorities released the GATE 2025 scholarship official notification on September 1. Institutes and students who are eligible to avail the AICTE GATE 2025 scholarship can check the tentative GATE 2025 stipend registration dates below -

Q:   Can commerce students apply for GATE exam?
A:

Yes, candidates having qualifying degree in B.Com can apply for GATE exam to get admission to the master's programmes in IITs and IISc. Candidates must go through the GATE information brochure carefully before applying. Also, students in 3rd year or final year in commerce are also eligible for GATE. 

Q:   Can I opt for any paper in the GATE two paper combination list?
A:

No, applicants cannot opt for any paper from the combination list. Candidates can only select from the options provided by the GATE authorities in the GATE 2026 paper combination list. For example, a CS student has the free will to choose from the following set of exam papers: DA, EC, GE, MA, PH, and ST. 

Q:   For how many GATE papers can I apply and how much will I have to pay?
A:

You can apply for two GATE papers (maximum). While filling out the GATE application form, you need to select the primary and secondary paper. The GATE secondary paper must be from the subject list prescribed by the GATE authorities. Before adding the paper, go through the subject combination list and GATE paper codes. 

Candidates opting for two GATE papers will have to pay double the fees mentioned -

For example,  

  • If a general category candidate is applying for two GATE papers, then he/she has to pay a fee of INR 4000 (during the regular timeline) and INR 5000 (during the extended period).
  • The same applies to the female, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, INR 2000 (during the regular time period) and INR 3000 (during the extended period).

GATE 2025 Stipend/Financial Assistance Details

  • Financial Assistance given to M.Tech students is Rs. 12,400 per month and generally paid for 22 months.
  • Financial Assistance given for Ph.D. programs (Direct Ph.D. after B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc equivalent with a valid GATE score) is Rs. 37,000 per month for the first two years and Rs. 42,000 per month from the third to the fifth year.

AICTE GATE 2025 Scholarship Eligibility

GATE 2025 qualified candidates can check the eligibility for the GATE 2025 scholarship below -

  • Must have a valid GATE score at the time of admission to the full-time MTech or ME programme. 
  • The institute must be AICTE-approved to receive the GATE stipend.
  • Part-time, sponsored, or distance-learning candidates are not eligible.
  • Applicants must have a personal savings account in their name. 

The scholarship is tenable for up to 24 months (or the duration of the course, whichever is shorter)

How to Register for the GATE 2025 Scholarship?

The step-by-step process to register for the GATE scholarship is as follows -

  • Visit the official website of the AICTE PG portal - pgscholarship.aicte.gov.in
  • Click on the registration link
  • Fill in the required details and upload the documents as mentioned
  • Submit the portal and log in to check the status of the application form.

The GATE exam is conducted once a year. The entrance test takes place on multiple dates and shifts for 30 test papers. For 2026, IIT Guwahati is conducting the exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.

The GATE cutoff changes every year depending on seat intake, number of applicants appeared in exam, toughness of question paper, and previous cutoff trends. Candidates who meet cutoff score can participate for counselling.

No, a duplicate GATE 2026 admit card will not be provided at the test center. Candidates must carry their own admit card along with the mentioned documents and items to the GATE exam center. IIT Guwahati will release the GATE admit card on January 2.

Yes, candidates will get a scribble pad in the GATE exam 2026 to do the rough work. Candidates have to write their name and registration number on the scribble pad before using it. However, the rough sheet must be returned after the completion of the exam.

The barcode present in the GATE admit card 2026 carries the candidate's information. It is required for a faster verification process and fraud prevention. So, make sure it does not get tampered. Carry multiple copies in case your GATE 2026 hall ticket is torn or tampered.

Candidates who are appearing for the GATE exam must carry a valid ID proof along with a passport-size photograph, transperant water bottle, and pen (blue or black) along with GATE 2026 hall ticket. We advise to carry atleast two to three copies of admit card to the centre.
