What is the GATE Scholarship 2025 Programme?

General Instructions for Availing GATE Scholarship 2025
- Only GATE or GPAT-qualified candidates are eligible for the scholarship.
- Candidates admitted for the part-time courses are not eligible.
- Bank account and candidate name should match.
- Joint accounts are not permitted.
- Student must have a general savings bank account (Minor/frill accounts are not accepted)
- Creamy OBC layer candidates who have qualified for GATE are not eligible.
- GATE candidates admitted to the engineering and architecture programme are eligible for the GATE scholarship 2025.
- Candidates qualified under OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/Physically handicapped and not having the authentic certificate are not eligible for the AICTE scholarship through GATE.
- The GATE scholarship 2025 will be given from the date of commencement of classes/date of admission (whichever is later) to completion of courses/date of submission of thesis.
- The GATE 2025 scholarship is disbursement for a maximum of 24 months or till the completion of the course or the date of submission of the thesis.

Has the GATE Scholarship Stipend Increased to INR 18000?
No, the scholarship has not yet increased or changed. However, the AICTE has raised a proposal of 50% hike in the GATE stipend amount for MTech applicants. Incase, the Ministry of Education approves, the monthly GATE stipend amount will be increased from INR 12,400 to INR 18,600.

Candidates who want to register for the GATE MTech scholarship programme must have the following documents ready before applying. The documents must be in JPEG or JPG format.
- Scanned copy of the GATE/CEED scorecard
- The bank account should be active with the Aadhar card. It must be linked with the Aadhar card.
- Only an Aadhar active Bank savings account will be considered since the PG scholarship is released through the Aadhar Bridge Payment Systems (ABPS) mode through Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
- No frill account, Jan Dhan account, Bank account having limits on transactions/credits and joint account are permitted.
- A scanned copy of the Aadhar card should be uploaded in JPEG or JPG format.
- A scanned copy of a valid category certificate for SC/ST/EWS/OBC and non-creamy layer (NCL) should be uploaded. The latest (not beyond one year old) EWS and OBC & Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate should be issued by the Competent Authority.
