Most of the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) in India conduct placement drives for their students from December first week to March last week in different phases. Almost all the renowned companies from across the globe visit the NIT campuses to recruit engineering and other graduates. The average package of students in top NITs in India usually ranges from Rs 10-15 lakh per annum whereas, for other NITs, it is between Rs 5-10 lakh per annum.
Top domestic and international companies Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Credence, QuadEye Security, Lowe’s, Wissen, Nokia, Incture, PharmEasy, ATCS, Toshiba, Cartesian Consulting, IBM, Cisco, Amazon, Arcesium, SAP, Qualcomm, Oracle, AppDynamics, etc. visited the NIT campuses to recruit engineering graduates for various job roles.
Engineering graduates are offered various roles in different sectors and domains. Much of the demand is for profiles in business analytics, coding, and software development. Companies from the automobile and FMCG sectors have also visited various NIT campuses to recruit engineering graduates. Function-wise most of the offers are made for positions such as engineering consultants.

NIT Placements: Procedure
All the NITs follow the below-mentioned step-by-step procedure for the placement of their students.
- Invitations are sent to companies/organizations in the form of brochures with relevant information along with response sheets enquiring about the recruitment details. Soft copies of the brochure and response sheet are also sent.
- The company fills the response sheet and sends it by e-mail/post to the Training and Placement Departments of the respective NITs.
- Once the details are received, the placement officer and coordinators get in touch with the company and a mutually convenient date is fixed for the Campus Placement process.
- The travel plans are obtained from the company and the necessary arrangements are made for various pre-placement, post-placement, and post-placement-related activities
- The offers are made by the company after the selection process and the offer letters are signed and accepted by the concerned students and sent to the company through the Training and Placement Department. The Department recommends offers to be made on the spot after the process with a letter of confirmation signed by the visiting company representatives.

MNIT Jaipur placements are good. During the placement drive 2025, highest package offered was 64 LPA. 1062 students registered while 776 students were placed.
