MHT CET Application Form 2026 - The Maharashtra CET Cell will release the MHT CET 2026 Application Form tentatively in December last week, 2025. The application form will be available only online on the MHT CET official website mahacet.org. To apply, candidates have to first complete MHT CET 2026 registration by filling the online registration form available on the official website. After registration, candidates can proceed to fill MHT CET application form by providing the personal and academic details, exam city preference, choice of paper (BTech/BPharma). Candidates also need to upload scanned images of their passport size colour photograph, signature and domicile certificate (if residents of Maharashtra) while filling the MHT CET application form. The application fee of MHT CET is INR 800 which can be paid online through credit/debit card, internet banking or UPI.

MHT CET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for MHT CET 2026 are yet to be released. Candidates can check here the eligibility criteria released by the CET Cell last year for the MHT CET exam. To apply for the exam, candidates must fulfill the below-mentioned conditions

  • Candidates must be an Indian Citizen 
  • Candidates must have passed or appearing in class 12 with Physic and Mathematics along with Biology/ Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science/ IT/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/ Technical Vocational subject or Passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology
  • Candidate must have secured at least 45% marks in class 12 (40% for reserved category).

Yes, candidates who have done two years ITI course after class 10 are eligible to appear in MHT CET exam. As per the Govt of India directives, 2-year ITI is considered equivalent to 10+2 (class 12) and thus they are eligible to apply for any exam where the minimum eligibility conditions of education is class 12.  Candidates are advised to carefully check all the conditions listed in MHT CET eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

Q:   Is it mandatory to upload class 12 certificate? I have appeared in my class 12 exam this year and certificate has been not issued yet.

Candidates who have appeared in class 12 board exam this year need to upload their admit card issued by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. The admit card should bear photo and name of the candidate and should be clearly visble. The dimension and size of the scanned document has to be within the permissible limit.

Q:   I am not able to upload the scanned images of my documents in MHT CET application form. What should I do?

If any candidate is facing difficulty in uploading scanned images in MHT CET application form, the problem could be due to many reasons-

Step by Step Guide to Fill MHT CET Application Form 2026

The MHT CET registration 2026 will start in December. The MHT CET 2026 Application form will be available only online. MHT CET 2026 registration process includes various steps like filling application form, uploading documents, payment of the application fee etc. The step by step guide to fill the MHT CET application form 2026 is provided here:

Step 1: MHT CET 2026 Registration

The first step in the application process is registration. The following information has to be filled in while registering.

  1. Personal Details
    • Candidate’s Full Name
    • Father’s Name
    • Mother’s Name
    • Gender
    • Date of Birth
    • The region to which the candidate belongs
    • Annual Family Income
    • Mother Tongue
    • Nationality
  1. Permanent Address: The complete address of the candidate including the Pin Code should be filled in. The mobile number and email address should be filled during registration for further communication.
  1. Choose Password: A password with a length of 8 to 13 characters must be created as per the instructions given to create a password. The next step is to click on save and proceed. After which a one-time password will be sent to the registered mobile number. The one-time password should be entered in the space given and verified. Immediately after that, an application number will be generated. The application number should be saved by the candidate.

Step 2: Filling Online Application form

The candidate must enter the application number and password generated to open the application form. The candidates must fill in the following details in the application form.

  1. Domicile Details: Candidates have to select their domicile- from Maharashtra or non-Maharashtra.
  2. Category Details: In this section, the candidates must fill in the following details
    • Category of the candidate
    • The annual income of the family
    • Caste name
    • Mention if the candidate is a person will disabilities
    • Mention if the candidate wants to apply for an economically weaker section
  1. Education Details: In this section, the candidate must fill in Class 10 and Class 12 percentages and all the related information.
  1. MHT CET Examination Details: The candidates should then select the examination details. The candidates will be prompted to select the subject group, language preference and examination center.
    • Select the subject group for MHTCET 2026: The candidates must select if it is PCM/PCB or both.
    • Select the language/medium of the question paper: The candidates must select English, Marathi or Urdu.
    • Select MHTCET 2026 examination centre: The candidates can enter their preferred examination centres.

After filling in all the details on the application form the candidate must click on save and proceed. The candidates can preview the details filled in on the application form and then submit it.

Step 3: Uploading Images

Candidates also need to upload scanned images of their passport-size colour photograph and signature in the MHT CET application form 2026. To upload the images, candidates have to click on the “Upload Photo & Signature” link at the MHT CET registration portal. The signature & photograph uploaded by the candidates must be as per the standard decided by the exam conducting authority.

For Uploading photograph

  • Take your recent color passport-size photograph. The picture should be taken against a light/white background. In case the face on the photograph is not clear, your application is liable to be rejected.
  • The file size of the photograph should be between 15 KB to 50 KB, otherwise, the system will not accept it.
  • To reduce the size, crop the image of the passport-size photograph in MS Paint or any other Photo Editing Software.
  • Please ensure that only the full face portion is cropped and not the entire photograph.

For Uploading Signature

  • The candidate himself/herself should sign (no capital letters) on white paper with a black ink pen.
  • Scan the signature in 200 dpi (dots per inch) scanner resolution settings and the file size should be between 5 KB to 20 KB in .jpg format.
  • To reduce the size, crop the image of the signature in MS Paint or any other Photo Editor. Please ensure that only the signature portion is cropped and not the entire A4 paper on which you have signed.
  • Once the photograph and signature files are uploaded by the candidate successfully, the system will show on the screen Photograph and Signature that has been uploaded. If these have been correctly uploaded, you should now proceed further to make the online payment.

Step 4: MHT CET 2026 Application Fee Payment

Candidates have to pay the requisite MHT CET 2026 application fee using net banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/Mobile wallets. The service charge (as applicable) has to be borne by the candidate. Every applicant must keep in mind that the MHT CET 2026 application fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. Step 5: Confirmation Page

After the successful payment of the MHT CET application fee, a confirmation of the same is displayed on the screen. Applicants must take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference. It is advised that candidates keep safe the copy of the application form until the completion of the admission process.

Q:   Is it mandatory to upload colour photo in MHT CET application form?

Yes, as per the information provided in MHT CET information brochure, candidates have to upload colour photo in the MHT CET 2026 application form. Also, the photograph need to be recent with light colour background. Sunglasses are not allowed in the photograph however candidates can wear vision glass/spectacles.

Q:   Can I fill MHT CET application form using my mobile?
A: 

It is not advised to fill MHT CET application form 2026 using mobiles. If candidates do not have a laptop/computer, they can visit the computer centres in market for filling the MHT CET 2026 application form. As filling the application form involves uploading scanned images of photo, signature and other required documents, it could be difficult to resize and upload these documents if filling the form through mobile.

Yes, other state candidates can apply for MHT CET. However, reservation benefits will not be applicable to them. All institutes have certain number of seats reserved for All India quota. Candidates from outside Maharashtra will be considered for All India quota seats. Candidates from outside Maharashtra will have to appear in JEE Mains exam to be eligible for participating in MHT CET counselling.

Q:   What is the age limit to apply for MHT CET?
A: 

As per the MHT CET eligibility criteria released by the Maharashtra CET Cell, there is no age limit to apply for MHT CET. Candidates of any age can apply and appear in the MHT CET exam. The only condition is that candidate should have passed/appearing in class 12.

Important Points to remember while filling MHT CET application form 2026

  • The candidate should fill the form only from the official website mahacet.org.
  • Registration has to be done by entering personal details, a valid email address, and a phone number.
  • After the application procedure is complete, the Maharashtra State CET Cell will provide the option for corrections in filled application form. Candidates must log in with their Application Number and password to their account to edit the application form that has already been submitted.
  • The application fee can be paid only online. Application fee once paid shall not be refunded.
  • Candidates should avoid filling MHT CET application form through mobile.
  • Ensure that you do not leave any field vacant that is marked mandatory in MH CET 2026 application form
  • An incomplete MHT CET 2026 registration form will not be accepted

All such candidates need to fill the application form and appear directly for the counselling. Seats are reserved in every institute for OCI/PIO/NRI/Gulf Workers candidates. The Maharashtra CET cell will provide the facility to make corrections in the filled application form after the completion of the application process. To edit the submitted application form, the candidate have to login into their account using the registered email ID and password. Higher and Technical Education department in the year 2023 announced that 50:50 weightage will be given to CET score and Class 12th marks for admission to undergraduate professional courses in Maharashtra state from the academic session 2023-24. As per this criteria, marks of class 12 and MHT CET will be considered for preparing the merit list in 50:50 ratio. Only those candidates who will have their names in the merit list will be considered for admisison.

Q:   I have filled some wrong information in my MHT CET application form. Will my form be rejected?

In case candidate has filled any wrong information in their application form, they can make the corrections during application correction period.
