MHT CET 2026: The Maharashtra CET Cell has announced the MHT CET 2026 exam dates. MHT CET session 1 exam 2026 for PCM group will be held from April 11 to 19, 2026 and the PCB group exam will be conducted from April 21 to 26. The MHT CET 2026 session 2 exam for PCM group will be held between May 14 to 17, and for the PCB group, the exam will be conducted from May 10 to 11. MHT CET 2026 Registration will start soon. The tentative MHT CET Registration date 2026 is December 30, 2025.

The Maharashtra CET Cell conducts the MHT CET for admission to BTech and  BPharma courses. The exam is conducted online as a computer-based test. The syllabus of MHT CET includes class 11 and 12 topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics for BTech papers, and for BPharma papers, it includes Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. BTech admission in Maharashtra is also based on JEE Main.

What is MHT CET?

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, also known as MHT CET, is a state-level entrance test to select candidates for admission to undergraduate engineering and pharmacy programs at various colleges throughout Maharashtra. The exam is conducted every year by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. The difficulty level of MHT CET exam is similar to JEE Mains. The MHT CET exam is conducted separately for PCM Group (BTech) and PCB group (BPharma). Important details related to MHT CET exam is given in the table below.

MHT CET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for MHT CET 2026 are yet to be announced. Candidates can check here the eligibility criteria as per the last year's notification. Candidates applying for MHT CET exam 2026 must ensure they fulfill the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. 

General Eligibility Conditions

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen
  • Candidates must have passed class 12 or appearing in class 12 in 2026
  • There is no age limit to apply for MHT CET
  • Candidate should have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one subject among Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/Business Studies in class 12
  • Candidates must obtain at least 45% marks in class 12. Candidates belonging to the backward class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category should obtain at least 40 % marks in class 12

Admission of Non-Maharashtra Candidates

  • Candidates who are not from Maharashtra can appear in MHT CET. Non-Maharashtra candidates also have the option of applying for BTech admission through JEE Main.
  • All the conditions of eligibility are same for Maharashtra as well as non-Maharashtra candidates.
  • MHT CET reservation policies do not apply to non-Maharashtra candidates.
  • Around 85% of seats are reserved for Maharashtra candidates under Home-Sate quota and the remaining 15% are for Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates.  

For OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates

  • OCI/PIO and NRI candidates are exempted from appearing in MHT CET. Such candidates can apply for admission based on class 12/equivalent exams. Separate counselling is held for OCI/PIO/NRI candidates after the admission process of MHT CET. 

Note: Candidates fulfilling any of the following criteria are considered Maharashtra state candidates

  • A candidate who is either a domicile of Maharashtra or born in Maharashtra.
  • A candidate whose father or mother is domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and holds a Domicile Certificate.
  • A candidate whose either of the parents is an employee of the Government of India or a Government of India Undertaking (PSUs) and is posted and reported for duty in Maharashtra State.
  • A candidate whose parents are employees or retired employees of the Government of Maharashtra or a Government of Maharashtra Undertaking (PSUs).
  • Candidates who have passed the SSC and/or HSC Examination from a disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border Area, or Maharashtra, residing in the disputed Maharashtra-Karnataka Border area, and whose mother tongue is Marathi.
  • Candidates belonging to a specific linguistic or religious minority community from the State of Maharashtra, as notified by the Government, can apply for the MHT CET.

MHT CET 2026 Application Form

Candidates can fill the MHT CET Application Form 2026 from the website - cetcell.mahacet.org using the instructions given here. The application form will be available online only. MHT CET Registration link will be provided on this page once the application starts. The procedure to fill the form are

  1. MHT CET Registration
  2. Filling personal and educational details
  3. Upload scanned images of the photo, signature, and category certificate. Category certificate has to be uploaded only by reserved category candidates.
  4. Pay application fees

The MHT CET form will be submitted once the application fee is paid. Candidates need to download and take a printout of their filled application form. The print copy has to be kept safe till the completion of the admission process as it is required at the time of college admission. The detailed step-by-step process to fill out the MHT CET application form is given below.

Registration: It is the first step in applying for MHT CET exam. At this stage, candidates have to fill personal details like name, gender, date of birth, category, a valid email address, and a phone number. The candidate will receive the application form login credentials at the registered email address.

Filling Application Form: After completing registration, candidate will need to fill details of educational qualification, exam city preference, address for corresponance, language of paper and paper for which appearing, PCM or PCB.

Uploading Documents: Candidate have to upload his/her photograph and signature in the recommended format and size. If candidate is applying for reserved seat, then they nee to upload the category certificate. Proof of identity, mark sheets, and other documents should be uploaded in the correct format and size.

Application Fee Payment: The application fee can be paid online only. Application form will be submitted after successful payment of fees. Candidates will need to download the pdf of filled application form and keep it safe as it will be required at the time of admission process. The fees for MHT CET 2026 has not been released yet. MHT CET Application Form Correction

The Maharashtra State CET Cell will provide facility to correct/modify the details in MHT CET application form after the completion of application process. To access MHT CET application form correction window, candidates have to login to official website using registered email ID and password.  After login, candidates will find three new links under "important links" Menu for MHT CET form correction.

  1. Change Subject Group
  2. Add Subject Group
  3. Edit My Application Form

Change Subject Group: Under change subject group, subjects can be changed from PCM to PCB or PCB to PCM.

Add Subject Group: Candidates can also add subject group PCM or PCB if they missed adding it while filling application form. The candidate must pay application fee along with late fee for the new subject group added.

Edit My Application Form: Using this link, candidate can change name, date of birth, photo, and signature.

Note: In case, the candidate has forgotten the password and cannot access their application for correction, they should click on link that says “I cannot access my account” in the login page to reset their password.

MHT CET 2026 Exam Pattern

MHT CET exam pattern 2026 has been released. Candidates can check here the exam pattern to know details about exam structure. MHT CET 2026 will be held online as a computer-based test and will have multiple-choice questions (MCQ). The CET Cell conducts separate exam for PCM and PCB groups. The MHT CET question paper will be set with 20% weightage to class 11 topics and 80% weightage to class 12 topics.

PCM Group Paper Pattern: There will be a total of 150 questions, 50 each from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. In each subject, 10 questions will be from class 11 topics and the remaining 40 questions will be from class 12 topics.

PCB Group Paper Pattern: The question paper for PCB group will have a total 200 questions, 100 from Biology and 50 each from Physics and Chemistry. In Biology, 20 questions will be from class 11 topics and the rest 80 from class 12 topics. In Physics and Chemitry, 10 questions will be from class 11 and 40 from class 12 topics.

MHT CET 2026 Admit Card

MHT CET 2026 admit card will be released online a few days before exam. Candidates can download their admit card online from the website mahacet.org using their email ID and password. After MHT CET Admit card download, candidates need to take its printout to be carried to the exam centre on the day of the exam.

Admit card will have information about exam date and time, test centre address, paper for which candidate is appearing, candidate's name, photograph, and signature. If admit card has any errors, candidates need to contact MHT CET Cell for correction. Download admit card using instructions given here

  • Log on to the MHTCET 2026 official website cetcell.mahacet.org
  • Click on the MHT CET admit card 2026 download link.
  • Login using your email ID and password.
  • Click on the 'Submit' button.
  • Your MHCET hall ticket 2026 will be displayed on the screen.
  • Download the same and take a printout for all future references.

MHT CET Exam Day Guidelines

The details about exam day guidelines can be checked in the MHT CET admit card. Provided here are some of the general instructions which every candidate needs to follow on the exam day. Candidates need to follow the following precautions at the exam centre:

  • Candidates must carry MHT CET Admit Card 2026 to the exam centre
  • Candidates need to carry one photo ID proof along with admit card 
  • Report to the exam centre as per the time allotted in the admit card
  • Candidates need not bring any prohibited item inside the exam centre
  • Carry a bottle of hand sanitiser

The list of MHT CET 2026 exam centres will be released along with the information brochure. The exam is conducted in around 100 cities across the state and in a few cities outside Maharashtra. The exact details about the MHT CET exam centre of the candidate can be checked from the information brochure. Candidates will be allotted an exam centre based on the choices of exam city filled by the candidate at the time of filling the application form. The exam city once allotted can not be changed. It is thus advised that candidates fill the exam city preference in the application form carefully.

  • A login window will appear on the screen 
  • Enter the registered email ID and password 
  • On the dashboard, click on the MHT CET answer key PDF link 
  • Download the MHT CET 2026 answer key PDF 

The CET Cell first releases a provisional answer key, which will be open for challenges by the candidates. Candidates can submit challenges online by login to the website.  The CET cell will review the challenge raised by the students and if the answer given by the student is correct, the answer key is updated. The final answer key of MHT CET will be released along with the results.

MHT CET 2026 Result

The Maharashtra CET Cell will release the MHT CET result tentatively in June. The result will have details of candidates percentile score in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology. Candidates can follow these steps to check their results.

  • Visit the MHT CET official website.
  • Select the link that says "MHT CET 2026 Result".
  • Click "Submit" after entering your login information.
  • The MHT CET 2026 results will be shown on the screen.
  • Download, and print the result for future reference

After the results are announced, the candidates will have to register at the counselling portal. The CET Cell will then release a merit list of all candidates who registers for the counselling based on class 12 board and MHT CET scores. The All India rank of candidates will be given in MHT CET merit list.

MHT CET 2026 Counselling

The Maharashtra CET Cell will conduct the MHT CET counselling in June. Candidates whose names appear in the MHT CET merit list can participate in the counselling filling the CAP registration form online. They also need to fill choices of college and courses. The allotment of seats will be made based on All India rank of candidates. The CET Cell will conduct 3 to 4 rounds of counselling depending upon the number of candidates.
