DU admission process 2019 has commenced on May 30. Earlier, Delhi University (DU) had decided to start the admission process from April 15. However, later the varsity extended the dates as implementing changes in the DU admission process was taking time.

DU application form correction window

Students have been demanding this option for a long time. However, the varsity is charging Rs 100 for every change made in the application form during the correction window.

Online marks calculator
The DU admission portal has an online marks calculator that automatically calculates candidates’ percentage of ‘best of four’ subjects centrally chosen for any particular course. It may be noted that all colleges across DU consider candidates’ aggregate marks of best four subjects to calculate their percentage for the cut-offs.
Live display of vacant seats
The varsity will have a 24X7 live display of the vacant seats on candidates’ dashboard of the online admission portal.
Stream change
Till 2018, 5% from the ‘best of four’ subject aggregate marks were deducted for candidates who changed streams (for instance, a candidate having Science or Commerce stream in Class 12th opting a Humanities stream course at the time of college admissions). However, from 2019 onwards, only 2% marks will be deducted for such candidates.
Hike in DU admission cancellation fee
With an aim to avoid multiple cancellation of admissions by candidates, Delhi University has double the cancellation fee from Rs 500 to Rs 1000.
De-linking of DU sports & ECA quota admissions
Admissions under sports and Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) quotas are likely to be de-linked from DU admission cutoff lists. This means that candidates applying under sports or ECA quota would not have to wait for the release of DU cutoffs for admissions. Their admission process will be conducted separately. The trials for sports are ECA quota candidates are likely to commence from last week of May, 2019.
Capping on the number of sub-categories of ECA/ sports
With an aim to conclude the admission process earlier, the varsity ha put a limit on the number of sub-categories that can be chosen by sports/ ECA quota candidates for trials to three. This will make the task of testing each and every candidate less time-consuming.
Sports & ECA quota candidate strength
The varsity has put a limit on the strength of candidates securing admission under ECA and sports quota to 10% than the actual strength of every class.
EWS reservation in DU admissions
From 2019 onwards, Delhi University has raised 10% seats for candidates belonging to Economically Weaker Section (EWS). However, the increment will take place in two phases – 10% in first year and 15% in next year.
CBSE marksheets
For the academic year, 2019-20, DU is expected to use the database of Central Board of secondary Education (CBSE) for getting the marksheets and certificates of students directly. If this happens, the number of certificates and documents that candidates have to submit at the time of filling DU application form will reduce.
DU syllabus
The varsity has modified the syllabus for all UG courses offered by it. The new educational courses will be executed from the upcoming academic session.

With a CUET PG score of 110, admission to M.Sc. Mathematics at Delhi University is very unlikely. DU's CUET PG cutoffs for Science courses, including Mathematics, generally range much higher—often above 200–250 marks out of 300 for the General category.
