Colleges accepting HPNLET/HPNET ranks for admission

Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HP NLU) conducts HP-NLET/HP-NET exam to shortlist aspirants for admission in BA/BBA LLB (Hons), LLM and PhD programmes offered by it. Himachal Pradesh National Law University Entrance Test (HP-NET) is of two hours duration and is usually conducted in the month of May.

On the basis of HPNET ranks, 60 seats are available for admission in BA/BBA LLB (Hons) programme, 20 seats are available in one year duration LLM course and 10 seats are on offer in PhD. Further, aspirants are informed that 25% of the total seats are reserved for Himachal Pradesh State Domicile students. Apart from this, a total of 5 seats are reserved for women candidates in LLM programme offered at HP National Law University.

Candidates are further informed that the distribution of seats in HP National Law Entrance Test for UG programmes is as mentioned below:

Within the Sanctioned Intake

• SC: 15%
• ST: 7.5%
• Differently Abled: 3%
• Wards of Serving/Retired Defence Personnel: 5%

Over and Above Sanctioned Intake

• Kashmiri Migrants (KM): 2 seats
• International Students, including NRI: 15%

The official website further informs that all the above mentioned seats will be supernumerary in character.

Talking about the NRI/NRI sponsored seats, the official website of HP NLU informs: “An 'NRI/NRI Sponsored' candidate is NRI himself/herself and NRI sponsored candidate is sponsored by first degree or second degree relation who is an NRI and has a valid residential proof of the place and the state in which he/she is living”. Further, candidates applying for admission under this category need to submit a certificate that is issued by competent Authority of the State Government.
