MHCET Law Counselling 2025 - The Maharashtra CET Cell has started the Institute Level Round for 5-year LLB and MH CET 3-year LLB on the MAH CET Cell official website. Candidates will be able to access the MH Law CET Seat Allotment List through the college website and CAP portal. Thereafter, they will have to report to the college for seat confirmation and document verification.

The registration process for the counselling started on June 26, 2025 however, for 3-year LLB, CAP process commenced on June 30, 2025 at cetcell.mahacet.org.  Once the counselling registration is over, the exam authority releases MH CET Law 2025 merit lists. Candidates will be given option for choice filling during the CAP process.

What is Option Entry Process for MAH CET LLB 2025?

During the counselling process, candidates before accepting their seats have the option to ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ their choices.

Float option - If candidates are not satisfied with the allotted colleges, they can choose the ‘Float’ option. Candidates exercising this option are eligible for appearing in the subsequent counselling rounds. In case they are not offered seats, they can choose the previously allotted college.  

Freeze option - Candidates can exercise ‘Freeze’ option to confirm their allotment and if they do not want to participate in the further counselling rounds. They will accept the allotted college and pay the admission fee. Such candidates will not be considered for further counselling rounds.

MH CET Law 2025 CAP Rounds Details

  • Candidates shortlisted as per the final merit list have to appear for CAP round 1
  • They need to fill option form, mark their preferred colleges, and accept colleges after allotment list is published
  • Once, the seat is frozen on acceptance, the candidate will no longer be able to participate in next round
  • Candidates accepting the seat allotted to them have to report to the allotted colleges
  •  Candidates who do not want to accept the allotted seat have to exercise float option and in such cases, they will be eligible to participate in next round for better seat allotment
  • Freshly registered candidates will be allotted seat in this round 
  • Candidates from the first-round can participate in this round for better seat allotment option
  • Candidates who did not accept the seat in the first round will be allotted seat in this round
  • Those participating in this round for upgrading their seats (as allotted and accepted in CAP I) won't be able to participate in next round
  • Candidates filling fresh option form as well as editing their options will be allotted seats in this round

Q:   What is the MH CET Law merit list?
A: 

The MH CET Law merit list is a list of candidates who have been shortlisted for counseling based on their rank in the MH CET Law entrance exam. The merit list is prepared separately for MS (Maharashtra State), OMS (Other State / Outside Maharashtra State) candidates, Jammu & Kashmir Candidates and INR, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) or All India category candidature type, Foreign Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRI) / Overseas Indian Citizen (OIC) / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) candidates. Candidates cannot raise objections against the merit list.

The MH CET Law merit list is released by the State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra. Candidates can check their MH CET Law merit list on the official website of the CET Cell, Maharashtra.

How to Register for MHCET Law Counselling 2025?

The MH CET Law 2025 counselling will be conducted through a Centralised Admission Process (CAP) in online mode in multiple rounds. For each MH CET Law 2025 CAP round, candidates will have to fill out the CAP registration form (same as the MH CET Law counselling registration form) and select the colleges in which they want to get admission. Based on the marks achieved by candidates in the MH CET Law 2025 exam and CAP registration for different rounds, respective merit lists will be released.

Q:   What is Freeze option in MH CET Law counselling?
A: 

Under MH CET Law CAP process, freeze option refers when candidates want to confirm their allotment and if they do not want to participate in the further counselling rounds. They will accept the allotted college and pay the admission fee. Such candidates will not be considered for further counselling rounds.

Q:   What is the last date to register for the MH CET Law Counselling 2025?
A: 

Candidates can register for the MH CET Law 2025 CAP process for 3-year LLB until July 21, 2025. However the e-scrutiny of documents will be done until July 25, 2025. For the MH CET 5-year LLB, the CAP registration was open until July 18, 2025 and the e-scrutiny of documents will be done until July 21, 2025. After the e-scrutiny is done, the MAH CET Cell will release the merit list based on the scores and preferences given by the candidates. Selected candidates will then have the option to freeze of float their candidature from a particular round.

To register for the Maharashtra CET LLB 3-year result, follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website of MH Law CET cetcell.mahacet.org
  • Click on the 'Admission Portal AY 2025-26' on the MHCET LLB homepage
  • A new page will open up, click on the 'LLB 3-year' tab
  • Now, click on 'Candidate's Login' tab to register for the MH CET 3 year LLB counselling
  • Fill in your registered email ID and password
  • On the login page of Law MHCET, enter the required information & upload the necessary documents
  • Select the preferred colleges for MH CET LLB 3-year admission and lock your details once you are done
  • Take the printout of MH CET LLB 3-year registration form for future reference

What is MH CET Law 2025 CAP?

MH CET Law 2025 Centralized Admission Process (CAP) includes counselling registration by candidates, document verification, choice-locking, seat allocation, and admission confirmation by candidates. MHCET Law 2025 merit list contains the following details:

Candidates who are included in the merit lists need to get admission to the assigned colleges as per the schedule shared with them.

There will be at least three rounds of counselling for MHCET Law 2025 or till the seats at participating institutes are still vacant. MH CET law 2025  counselling or Centalised Admission Process is conducted online. MHCET Law 2025 CAP will have two rounds, but if there are any vacant seats left, institution-level counselling will be held.

MHCET Law 2025 seat allotment process will be available as 1) individual candidate allotment and 2) institute-wise allotment. Seat allotment is made on the basis of 1) MH CET law 2025 merit rank, and 2) options selected during the option-entry process.

Q:   What if I am not satisfied with my seat allotment through the MH CET Law Counselling?
A: 

If you are not satisfied with your seat allotment through the MH CET Law Counselling, you have two options:

1. Participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling: There are usually multiple rounds of counselling for MH CET Law. If you are not satisfied with your seat allotment in one round, you can participate in the next round and hope for a better seat.

2. Withdraw from counselling: If you are not satisfied with any of the seats that you are allotted, you can withdraw from counselling. However, you will have to pay a withdrawal fee.
