FTII JET Eligibility Criteria 2025: The examination body, the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) prescribes the FTII JET eligibility criteria for all candidates planning to apply for the exam. As per the eligibility criteria of FTII JET 2025, there are set parameters to which candidates need to adhere while filling the application form. FTII JET 2025 for Stage 1 was held on July 27, 2025, and for Stage 2 was held between September 26, 2025 and October 11, 2025. FTII is India’s premier Film and TV institute and offers specialised programmes for candidates who want to make a career in the Film and TV industry. The programmes offered through FTII are divided into two wings (Film Wing and TV Wing), under which there are different courses of different durations. On clearing the Joint Entrance Test (JET), students can get admission into Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) as well as the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute of India (SRFTI). These two premiere institutes are the conducting body of FTII JET as well. Candidates who qualify in this exam will be eligibile to take up film making related courses in either of the two institutes.
For sound engineering, candidate's need to have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Physics as a subject at senior secondary (10+2) level also they will have to qualify in the written examination of the Joint Entrance Test (JET) of 3 hours duration for 100 marks, conducted at examination centres around the country.

There is a cut off which is defined after the exam is conducted. The FTII JET cut off is defined based on various factors such as the exam's difficulty level, total number of applicants who appeared in the exam and the shifts under which the exam is conducted. Candidates who score equal to or more than the FTII JET cut off will qualify in the exam. As far as the minimum passing marks of FTII JET varies, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII for General Category is 50% for General category while that for OBC NCL category is 45%.
If you have not completed your graduation or if you are waiting for your graduation results during FTII JET exam, you can still appear for test. But, you will have to submit proof of graduation qualification during document verification process. If you fail to do so, your application will be rejected, no matter if you qualify the test.
To fill the application form of the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) examination. Candidates must be minimum 21 years of age. The minimum educational qualification required for candidates to apply for the FTII JET examination is graudation in any discipline. However, for candidates who want to apply for Art Direction and Production Design course they will have to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Arts, Architecture, Painting, Sculpture, Interior Design or related fields in Fine Arts.
FTII Admission Process 2025
To get admission at FTII, candidates need to first visit its official website and click on the online application link for JET. After that, candidates will have to fill out the detailed FTII JET application form. While filling out the application form, candidates are supposed to upload their required documents and then pay the FTII JET application fee to successfully submit the application form.
Candidates who successfully submit the application form are issued the FTII JET admit card to appear in the written exam. Candidates who qualify in the exam as per the FTII JET result 2025 are called for subsequent rounds of Orientation / Interviews. The students will be selected based on their FTII JET score, document verification, medical test, and performance in interview.
