FTII is India’s premier Film and TV institute and offers specialised programmes for candidates who want to make a career in the Film and TV industry. The programmes offered through FTII are divided into two wings (Film Wing and TV Wing), under which there are different courses of different durations. The minimum passing marks for the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test varies, however, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII are as follows.
- 50% for General category.
- 45% for OBC NCL category.
- 40% for SC/ST category.
The Film and Television Institute of India lays down the age limit for admission to offered courses through FTII JET entrance exam in its admission prospectus. An 18 year old student is not eligible to apply for FTII JET exam. The minimum age requirement for the exam is 21 years.
The institute offers the following scholarships based on merit and performance credits during the students' time there.
- Entrance Exam Merit - Given to toppers in each of the film wing courses; INR 12,500 per year.

The FTII JET cut off is defined based on various factors such as the exam's difficulty level, total number of applicants who appeared in the exam and the shifts under which the exam is conducted. Candidates who score equal to or more than the FTII JET cut off will qualify in the exam. FTII Admission Process 2026
To get admission at FTII, candidates need to first visit its official website and click on the online application link for JET. After that, candidates will have to fill out the detailed FTII JET application form. While filling out the application form, candidates are supposed to upload their required documents and then pay the FTII JET application fee to successfully submit the application form. The last date to fill FTII JET application form is April 07, 2026.
Candidates who will successfully submit the application form will be issued the FTII JET admit card to appear in the written exam. The hall ticket window will b eopne from April 18 to April 25, 2026. Candidates who qualify in the exam as per the FTII JET result 2026 are called for subsequent rounds of Orientation / Interviews. The students will be selected based on their FTII JET score, document verification, medical test, and performance in the interview.

No, a candidate cannot fill FTII JET application form offline. The Film and Television Institute of India releases JET registration form in online mode and candidates have to fill and submit the same in online form only. No offline application form will be accepted by FTII for entrance exam.
