IBSAT 2023, the MBA entrance exam for ICFAI Business School will be held on December 23 and December 24, 2023. The registrations for IBSAT 2023 began on July 01, 2023 and ended on December 20, 2023. Candidates will have to take the test from their homes by maintaining the instructions given by the exam conducting authorities. The exam authorities lays down certain guidelines that test-takers must abide by during the entire exam duration, otherwise, the authorities have the right to disqualify the candidates.

IBSAT 2023 Internet-Based Test (IBT) Taking Guidelines

  • Candidates should have a fully functional and upgraded computer or laptop with an uninterrupted power supply (UPS), microphone, speaker and web camera

  • Candidates should keep the web camera and microphone on for the entire exam duration

  • The operating system should be Windows 7 or its advanced versions, or equivalent in the case of iOS

  • Candidates can use updated versions of any of the web browsers including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, etc.

  • The internet connection should be strong and uninterrupted. In case the internet gets disconnected for a few minutes, candidates must inform the invigilator immediately or call the helpline numbers in case the connection does not get restored

  • Test takers should ensure that there is no one around while taking the test or candidates should not be talking to anyone else either directly or over phone

  • Candidates will be constantly monitored during the test and in case s/he observes any suspicious activity, the test-takers can be disqualified from taking the test after a few warnings

  • Candidates must ensure that the lighting in the background is sufficient and their face is clearly visible to the invigilator

  • There should not be any other documents such as books, notebooks, or electronic equipment such as mobile phones, calculators, etc.

IBSAT 2023 Test-Taking Procedure

  • Candidates will be given the link to take the test through email

  • Upon clicking the link, candidates will be taken to the test-taking browser

  • They will have to login through the registration credentials – username and password

  • After logging in, they will be given the instruction sheet which they have to go through

  • Upon going through and understanding the instructions, they will have to click on the confirmation check box

  • Once they agree to the terms and conditions, they will be directed towards the test

  • In the next step, the exam authorities will check the system comparability in terms of browser, internet speed, web camera and speaker

  • In case the camera and speaker are not enabled, a pop-up will appear on the candidates’ screen and they will have to enable the functions

  • The next step is capturing their profile picture and sharing it with the exam authorities wherein an AI algorithm will check the photo and ensure that it matches the benchmark

  • The final step is to share the screen and start taking the test

  • There will be a timer and calculator on-screen which candidates can refer to or use during the test duration

  • Candidates have to choose the correct answer options and can also mark certain questions for reviewing later

  • After completing the test, they will have to click on the ‘End Test’ button on the top left side of the screen and the test will be ended after dual confirmation, in order to avoid ending the test by mistake

IBSAT 2023 Exam Pattern

According to IBSAT 2023 exam pattern, it is a two-hour duration test carrying 140 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, Reading Comprehension, Data Adequacy and Data Interpretation. Verbal Ability section carries 50 questions and the rest of the sections carry 30 questions each. There is no sectional time limit. Each question carries one mark and there is no negative marking scheme.
